For Columbus Belmont State Park: What a campground! This place is situated on a high bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. There are ‘premium’ sites that backup to the bluff. [Premium because of location &/or sewer.] The backyard of the bluff sites is large & deep. There are benches along the fence & 2 porch like swings under a roof. Very nice. Bath house is nice. Columbus is extremely small with only a very small convenience store. Stock up before arriving. The convenience store, Beards & Roses, is also a small diner. They have an excellent breakfast. They make, from scratch, ice cream, biscuits, cakes, pizza, dough & all! Definitely worth a stop or a walk. It’s only ½ mile one way.

For Columbus Belmont State Park: Really nice little campground built on an old civil war encampment . Lots of walking trails with historic markers. Beautiful view of the Mississippi from up high( no flooding!). Clean showers and restrooms . Paved sites, not all with full hookup but would definitely stay here again!

For Columbus Belmont State Park: Stayed at Columbus Belmont State Park Campground for around $30/night including tax, “transaction†fee even with AAA discount. A bit pricey for just partial hookup! All sites are paved and back-in with power pedestal and (leaky) water spigot. Sites are short distance from each other, but not overly crowded. Centralized bathroom is clean and functional. The campground was built on top of the Confederate fortification during the American Civil War. This campground is full of histories with steam boat stoping giant chains, earth mound and trench you can visit, or camp on top of once a battle ground was pretty cool. There even an old cemetery just short distance from campground. Dump station locates near the exit. View of Mississippi River sunset can be view at some sites, but no trails available leading to the river. The price will keep us away to more reasonable campground in the area.
