Wandering Sandals

For Langley Point - Kanopolis State Park: We stayed at Kanopolis State Park Campground at Cottonwood Loop site#C001 for 2 nights. With many attractions around the area like Mushroom Rock, Rock City, Coronado Heights, etc. it tempting to stay longer especially for only $19/night for electric hookup ($21 for electric/water) and short walking distance to bathroom. Other loop bathrooms don’t have showers, except for Cottonwood loop. The Cottonwood bathroom facility have separate toilets for men/women, 4 stalls showers in the back are unisex. Showers are dated; one has wasp nest on the ceiling, one smell terrible, one has misaligned door. Toilets are barely functional with one toilet clogged up and closed for repair. Fortunately our site is graveled and leveled. Power pedestal is functional despite the handwriting marker said otherwise (we have Progressive Industry unit to help us diagnose electrical issue). No WiFi anywhere in the campground, 2-3 bars LTE strong enough to get on internet. This campground is very popular with fishermen. Boat launch/marina is at the end of Marina Drive. Closest grocery & gas are 13 miles away at the town of Marquette. Our stay was peaceful and close enough to nature that we can hear crickets at night.

For Langley Point - Kanopolis State Park: We stayed in the Sumac loop with full hookups. The spot we had was shaded, but that shade was provided by a tree that was growing right I'm the middle of the camping spot. We were fine with it, others may not be. The only rrason for the 4 star and not 5 was our sewer connection. The sewer hookup was quite far to the front of the drive so we had to park the trailer as far forward in the spot as we could so our sewer tube would reach. This section is beautiful though. Lots of trees for shade. The Sumac loop is not huge so felt a bit crowded when everyone arrived on Friday night. This section is not far from the rest of the park. The swim beach was pretty clean and very large with a section for boats and jet ski's to beach, and a section for just swimming. There is a Frisbee golf course here also, across the street at the Army Corp section. We will camp here again. Lots of trails for hiking we did not get to see. Mushroom State Park is right down the road and Coronado castle is short drive away as well.

Cindy

For Langley Point - Kanopolis State Park: Nice campground. We stayed here for a couple of nights in late October, 2016. We were on Sumac Loop and practically had the place to ourselves during the week. We left on Friday and it was beginning to fill up since there was some sort of event going on in the park for the weekend. We really enjoyed this park and will be back again.
