For High Plains Camping and RV Resort: Flat level gravel sites with grass between them. Yes, goat head burrs in the grass, be careful. We stayed only one night, but the stay was made outstanding by having dinner at Cap’n Jack’s Pub! Excellent food! We had seafood (brought in from Chesapeake area). Five star restaurant in our opinion. When checking in we received $5 voucher toward dinner. Chef and owner very friendly and to our discovery, used to live in our Reno neighborhood a num of years ago.

Janet

For High Plains Camping and RV Resort: Do you want to know the truth? I don’t like to make negative comments but after we got settled and I read the rules and knew that cameras were all around I got kind-of creeped out. 1. Told that “cameras will be watching us if we decide to run naked”. 2. Some kind of attitude that I couldn’t put my finger on. 3. RV’s with sewer hookups could not use the bathroom. 4. Cable TV is like watching TV in the 60’s with a bad antenna. 5. Stickers everywhere you step out, you will get tons on you. 6. Good news, it is right off highway 70. Bad news you can talk to the truckers as they go by. 7. They say there is WiFi, I tried all night and never got on. 8. No smoking, that didn’t bother us but it may bother some. If they catch you you are kicked out with no refund.

Kelly

For High Plains Camping and RV Resort: Big level spots that are easy in and easy out. We came in at night for one night stay and they conveniently had our map and site posted on door. Old buildings and very old bathrooms but they were huge and clean. Not a fancy place but perfect for quick stop over.

Peggy

For High Plains Camping and RV Resort: Unfriendly owners who don’t care if you stop or not. Go further down the road & stay at the KOA I’m Salina if you are looking for a great park. Grounds were unkempt & Park needs TLC. Don’t waste your time.

For High Plains Camping and RV Resort: The place was fine for an overnight stop. We arrived at almost 11 PM and were able to do a late check in. Owners greeted us over an intercom system to make sure we knew what we were doing. There were not many other campers there so we had plenty of space. Also the spaces themselves were large and you could pull in. Full hook up all though it was too cold for us to leave the water connected. We did not use any of the facilities so I cannot comment on those. We were basically parked right behind that pub but did not go in it either. You can definitely hear the highway but that's fine. As other reviewer?s have said, there are LOTS signs all over the place telling you what not to do. However the owner came by in the morning and she was friendly so it probably just gives a wrong impression. Main drawback if you have a pet is that there are thorns in the grass. One got stuck in my dogs paw pretty much immediately. My husband was also frustrated that you had to pay cash that evening rather than checking in in the morning. We were already tired and it was very cold out. She did bring us change in the morning though.

For High Plains Camping and RV Resort: Ok stop for the night. Basic sites with full hookups. Easy in and out, nice pub with good selection of beer and food.

For High Plains Camping and RV Resort: We were happy to find this stop. Easy parking, good to have electricity, water and sewer, restrooms and showers were clean. Friendly check in. Great to have the pub on sight. Friendly and good food. Didn't use pool or hot tub but nice to know they are available. Grounds need work.
