For Starve-Hollow State Recreation Area: Nice campground but the people in the gate house were quite rude. No place to exercise our dog. DNR patrolled quite often making sure we didn’t step out of line. Site very close together. Won’t be back.

For Starve-Hollow State Recreation Area: Nice campground—but be aware of two things. First, they are going to charge you a $9 entry fee upon arrival. It would have been nice to have known that my camping costs would have cost me another $9 just to get to my site. Second, the pull throughs are not laid out very well. They are laid out like a square which makes it very difficult to hook up if you are not wanting to unhook your toad.

For Starve-Hollow State Recreation Area: This is a beautiful, well maintained state recreation area with full hook-up sites separate from the lakefront electric-only sites. We opted for lakefront and are so glad we did. Sites are spacious and shady and directly on the water with gorgeous views; Moderately level with reliable electric service. There are water spigots spaced thoughout the campground but recommend you come with full fresh water tanks. There is a wash basin for rinsing dishes and washing hands. Staff was very friendly and showers/restrooms were kept clean. A very enjoyable park for a few nights stay.
