For Madison City Park: This is an appealing campground for the river views and the variety of options in Madison! Have camped here many times for the past 30 years. And love it!
Booked on the 3rd for 45th Anniversary trip! Was so looking forward to being in one of our favorite areas!
But, unbeknownst to us, my husband had to have an emergency abdominal surgery on the 8th. Two days prior to our arrival. I called and left message w campground host and w parks Dept. Manager returned my call on Sunday. Told me to be sure and call Kim at parks Dept on Monday. Called and left another message w her. She called me this am (Tues) and told me there are absolutely no refunds with such short notice. I was aware of refund policy, which in 45 years of camping I’ve only had to do a handful of times due to deaths or emergency situation.
I just want you to be aware that if an emergency situation arises and your less than 3 days from arrival, you will lose all of your money. And that is quite a chunk at Madison City Campground now. Look up their rates, plus two taxes.

Denise
For Madison City Park: This is a great campground. Beautiful setting on the Ohio River. Grassy, some spots have more shade than others. Only Water and Electric, but they have a dump on site at no additional charge. Very friendly and helpful camp host. The town has a lot to do and see. Renting a golf cart for a day is a really good idea.

For Madison City Park: Nice spot. Note that sites are reserved through ReserveAmerica, NOT through calling the city or the campground. City needs to update its information.

Staff: Very friendly and helpful.
Grounds: Well kept, clean.
Electrical: 30/50 amp. No issues.
Noise Level: Quiet. No trains.
Cell Service AT&T: 2 bars.
Wifi: Not used
Price: $47 per night.
Notes: We travel in a 40' Motorhome. Not all park facilities were used.
Opinion: Interesting city park. Large grassy area between park and river Close-in to town. Great river walk/bike ride. River view is outstanding ... that is what you are paying for. Would stay again to explore area.
