For Clifty Falls State Park: We were in a 24’ class C, at site 81. The park was great and huge, with lots of spots with mostly gravel pads with a few concrete ones. Our site was supposed to be full shade, which it wasn’t. It was level though. It looks like there may have been a huge tree there at some point since a sapling was there now. Spot 77 across from us had a huge lush tree which we tried to snag. Sites did not feel cramped. The roads throughout the park were great and easy to bike and hike on. Lots of very well marked trails which we hiked. The falls were nice as well. It has a store with a good variety of common things people need. The swimming pool looked great as well with an impressive slide. Cost $3 entry to pool. Showers and restrooms were clean and plentiful. Potable water was always near by. One was right by our spot which was nice. We were there on Flag Day/Fathers Day weekend, and it was surprisingly quiet and not too rowdy. Keep in mind you have to pay the small park entry fee even with a paid reservation.

For Clifty Falls State Park: The campground with electricity is where we pitched our tents-and we certainly enjoyed our shady spot. Even on a Monday the park was pretty crowded-although surprisingly quiet. Lots of large groups with kiddos with parents who obviously are teaching campground etiquette. There are spots with little to no shade, so be sure and ask. These seemed to be the most prevalent in the center of the loops. The major let down is the bathrooms. They REALLY need work. I’ve never seen a state park in such rough shape. I would not shower in them. The bathroom side wreaked of urine and there was a mysterious drainage coming from what looked like a utility room. The pit toilets were also terrible-but that’s pretty normal in a high-use area. Bugs galore and stench. Not exactly clean. The pool was $3.00 a person and no food or drinks are allowed in. No shade at all-so bring sunscreen and your own umbrella if sensitive. These bathrooms were in better shape. There is a camp store and ice and fire wood are available. We used 30 amp with an old picnic table and nice fire ring with grill. There’s the usual per-car fee and only one car per site. Extra vehicles can be parked at the gate. The state needs to rehab the bathrooms and this place would be much better.

DaVida

For Clifty Falls State Park: Great park with hiking trails thru forest to many falls. Inn had better wifi, cell, restaurant, grassy hillside overlooking Ohio River (also good for eclipse viewing). Push button showers lasted 3-5 seconds, no temp control, non-electric loop bathhouse much better. Sites in grassy fields, few trees. Staff friendly and helpful.
