For Sycamore RV Resort: I’ll start with the negatives. The street in is extremely rough for a city block or two until you reach the campgrounds property after which it is well maintained. Don’t know why the city doesn’t fix the street as it’s been this way for years. The turn is a bit tight so requires a bit of care and rough road requires slow speed. The sites are close together and yes they are gravel. They do seem to charge for everything and I particularly don’t like the $2 per person daily visitor charge. We don’t use the amenities like beach, boat, or fishing. The owners people skills may rub people the wrong way and yes Dale instructing which way to turn the wheel is a little aggravating & not appreciated. In Dale’s defense for every dozen experienced competent drivers, there is the one that would run over electric & water, shrubs, trees, & other Campers if not directed. And remember the sites are close together. The entire place is controlled by rules, which unlike some campgrounds are enforced. Now the good. The sites are level with full hookups. The rules are enforced which also means they apply even to those that rules don’t normally apply. The property is very well maintained and the shower facilities and laundry area is extremely clean. By charging a deposit for the laundry & shower entry card, entry is controlled and the building tends to stay clean and the deposit is refunded. The propane was reasonably priced at $30 for a 30# and they deliver it back to the camp site. You can walk the road around the lake (about 1/2 mile) and there is a large mowed grass area I saw people walking their dogs. I give it 4 stars rounded up a notch from 3 because it’s clean, quiet, & well maintained.

For Sycamore RV Resort: 1. It’s definitely not a resort.
2. Hope you like gravel, cuz that’s what your site will be.
3. Dale is a total grump.
4. You will be charged for everything, even to pass gas there.
5. There were about 4 of us that had to play musical sites on a Wednesday because Dale couldn’t be bothered with figuring out sites to keep people in their original space.
6. There are some folks there that are in with the owners, so if you do stay there, watch what you say.
7. If you stay in the gravel pit across the lawn from the smaller lake, they still consider it lakefront and you will pay more per night. It’s 2 roads and a grassy lawn away from being lakefront.
8. One positive, the place is quiet. If you just need a place to stop as you’re passing by it’s alright. I’d take it over KOA. If you’re looking for anything that resembles a resort, it’s not. There’s no playground, there’s no pool. There’s a couple of ponds and a truckload of sand called a beach.
I would give it a 2 star, but they get 1 because of Dale. If they would have just been friendly and accommodating then I would have given them 3 stars. Attitude goes a long way.

For Sycamore RV Resort: Decent park although probably not for everyone as spaces are close together. It is clean and well taken care of throughout. As others have noted, two ponds that feature catch and release, a swimming area and lots of space for walking around ponds. Owners helpful and responsive to requests. We stayed here for a month while waiting to get some body work done. We would stay again. Best WiFi of of any Park we have stayed.

For Sycamore RV Resort: The campground itself is fine. Has 3 different lots, smaller rigs should pay more for the lake view. Big Rigs are parked in a white rock parking lot. (and the man does tell you how to park, literally directs you). Not something we need help with, although some may, he has NO people skills! (but I’m not here to make friends, so..)
Parked here and drove into Chicago, good deal for that. The roadway in is a bad deal. Tight right turn! Lots of pot holes, may not be CG fault but if it messes up my rig I don’t care who is at fault. Hard to exit with a lot of traffic on that road, just be patient. Two pretty pond areas!

For Sycamore RV Resort: I have to disagree with the other posts. We called Thursday afternoon before July 4 - just passing through, needed Friday night. Park owner was very accommodating. Being a retired teacher I understand the need for rules - children should be supervised. The lake is beautiful and must cost a pretty penny for liability insurance - boating, fishing, swimming. I can't speak for the restrooms. We've stayed at many campgrounds on our 6000 mile journey. It's a nice place to bring your family. (Someone commented about weeds in the lake - go to a campground with a swimming pool - this is natural vegetation.)
Owners were very courteous and helpful. In regard to entrance road - one section had a few pot holes, but that Road belongs to the municipality not the campground.

For Sycamore RV Resort: It's quiet, fairly clean, and decently priced. Posts are accurate. Tight spots and lots of rules. Other poster is correct, not enough Richards and too many Dicks. Quick overnight is fine longer, no thanks.

For Sycamore RV Resort: Nice park with lake view spots if you're "fortunate" enough to pay for them. Our 28' motorhome barely fit in the hot sun blasted spot they forced us into. Sewer hook up was 20' from as far as they would allow us to back up (5' short). The class As next to us had full pull through with plenty of space for their tow cars.
Unless you are "lucky" you will be 5' door to door with your neighboring RVs.
Facilities are decent, single stall restroom.. Been at many better showers.
Only ran $34/night for 30amp, so not too pricey.
