For Pere Marquette State Park: This campground is across the road from the Illinois River. It is a large flat area with many trees. No under story & grass all around. No Camp Host. Sites are not tidied up between campers. The only thing that really could be done, aside from cleaning out the fire rings, is to rake up with gum balls in many of the sites. The bath house is satisfactory. Be warned the shower is activated via a small push button & it does not last long. :) There are 4 dump stations here. We ate at the Grafton Oyster Bar & Beasley’s. My husband eats oysters & was very pleased with what he got. I had a blackened shrimp taco which was excellent. We finished up with their bread pudding – also very good. Forgot — we also ordered catfish nuggets. These were also very good. At Beasley’s we each got a catfish sandwich. Husband also ordered catfish nuggets. The sandwich & the nuggets were the same — a bunch of nuggets between 2 slices of white bread. :) The catfish was not as good as the oysters. At Beasley’s you can eat at one of the sheltered picnic tables or take it to go.
