For Fort Massac State Park: We stayed here 3 nights in early May 2018. Very nice well kept park. Friendly, helpful host on site. Plenty of areas for kids to play and run around. I enjoyed the hiking trails and the views of the river. Even though this park is at the edge of the small city of Metropolis, you still feel like you are in a park. Very convenient to stay here and resupply or eat out a few meals. Would recommend if traveling through the area to stay here.

For Fort Massac State Park: Close to the highway so great for an overnight stop over. But far enough away that you could not hear any highway noise. It is situated on the Ohio River so was great to wake up and see some water after we arrived late the evening before. We were there in mid-March and the bathhouses were not open yet. I think they were opening them the day that we left. Was not a problem for us since we had a place to get water and fill our tanks. Water is located next to the dump station. Site was level and easy to back into. Only charged us $15 because the restroom is not open yet. It was nice that this was a park and not just an RV campground.

For Fort Massac State Park: Very nice and quiet park. Sites are easy to get in and out of. No water hookups at campsites but they do have a water fill up station. Deer graze in the grass in the evening. Very relaxing.
