For Illini State Park: Nice sized, level sites. Lots of trees with open areas in the middle of the campgrounds. Many sites feel very private. If you’re in Whitetail, it’s common for 2 sites to share an electric box, so you may need extra long cords.
If you’re camping in June, be aware that sites 60 thru 64 have mulberry trees. Delicious, but messy! Sites 61 and 63 you have pretty much no choice but to put your camper under the trees. The others you can mostly avoid the falling berries.
As of June 2023, all water spigots were unusable except for the main one by the dump station. No notices about when they would be available.

For Illini State Park: Stayed one night at a site right by the river. Lots of space between sites, expansive lawn area, well maintained campground. Wish there had been firewood for sale. Place was full at the end of October—clearly a popular spot.

For Illini State Park: Beautiful camping spot. Spent one night in the Great Falls camping area, right by the river. Great price for 50 amp hookup ($20). Bathrooms and showers were very nice also.

For Illini State Park: There are two camping areas. The Great Falls area is right on the river, is more popular, and is where Campground hosts can be found. Both Whitetail and Great Falls have spacious sites and loop roads are paved with level gravel site pads. Bathhouse has tile walls and push button showers.

For Illini State Park: Lovely park on the bank of the Illinois River. The Marseilles Dam & lock are in the park for those looking for an interesting time watching river barges. A good meal is only a short drive over the bridge at Marseilles Diner. A boat launch is at the east end of the park. There is a Middle East Conflict Memorial on the town side of the bridge, and a fallen soldier memorial at the lock.
We stayed a month in a travel trailer, rate: $20.
