For Sun Retreats Rock River: Very expensive, but we knew that going in because we booked a couple months out. My expectations were high because of the price but was a little disappointed when we got there. Spots were small, fire pit was just a car rim, there is a bunch of full time campers with golf carts. They are driving around all day/night while drinking... on the plus, very large park which is all paved which made it great for riding our bikes. There is also a bunch of activities for kids. We most likely will not stay here again. Also it was next to a Tyson slaughter house which smelled very bad. We got luck that the wind was going away from us.

For Sun Retreats Rock River: Lovely and fun place, but the gnats were truly unbearable (even with a head fishing net); we left a day early. No amount of spray helped. Grant it, this was June, after a very wet spring, but a little commercial spray would have made this location ideal for campers. Property clean and very well maintained. Wish the pool was heated; Illinois is not blessed with weather hot enough to warm a pool that size.

For Sun Retreats Rock River: Very nice modern, gated resort. Sites are a little close together. I would rate higher as far as facilities go, it is just that the rates are quite high. Charged $7.00 for Internet access per day then discover it was $7.00 PER DEVICE per day.
