Tracy

For Weldon Springs State Rec Area: Not a huge campground but it was busy. Still several open sites though. Reserved a few days in advance for a site without electricity. Was $8 but with transaction fee and tax it was $16. Bathroom has 3 flush toilets and 3 showers. Nice grounds surrounding the campground to walk around.

For Weldon Springs State Rec Area: We r here right now. I wish I could attach photos. I’d show you the toilet full of poop, the shower dull of rust and the overflowing dumpster. It’s the beginning of the season; how can it be in such bad shape already?!?! Do yourself a favor and don’t camp here.

For Weldon Springs State Rec Area: A nice park with a pretty lake and good hiking trail around the lake. Illinois budget woes have resulted in poorly maintained state parks. We tried 6 different sites before we found a stable electric hookup. Hosts admitted that older breakers (30 amp) were in need of replacement. Other than electric problems, I recommend this park.
