For Dam West Recreation Area: This is probably our most favorite campground. Always busy and you must have reservations as far in advance as possible. We keep going back to this place because the people are great and the facilities are great. I wish they had more sewer and full-service hook ups but you somehow manage. We will go back and will continue to go back.

For Dam West Recreation Area: This definitely rates among the best sites we have been at. Spacious lots with lots of shade. TV reception was fine. Management was very cordial and helpful. We had to stop here when our reservations at Scott Air Force Base were deleted without notifying us. The management at Carlisle West Dam was very gracious and helped us to find a space on a more permanent basis. Will never go back to Scott Air Force Base anyway but this was a much better choice. If you are using Senior Pass you can't beat this for a good price and a good deal. Highly recommend.

For Dam West Recreation Area: This is our second time at Dam West in Carlyle. Heavily treed so satellite is not feasible on most sites. 50 amp service is good. The east section sites are long enough for any length rig. There are a few pull thrus is on the west camping section but these are very short. Great COE park.
