For Gun Creek: I usually prefer COE campgrounds, but this one... Stayed one night on my way to Chicago and was grateful it was only one night. The campground is large and busy. I had reserved Site 30 in the Nighthawk area. As I waited to check in another couple wanted to do a walk up site. Cash only, so be aware. I didn’t realize when I reserved my site that all the sites around me were booked by a large group having some kind of reunion. The spots are close together in this area and without much privacy. Their picnic bench was about 5 ft. from my parking pad. The couple next to me got into a loud argument over his inability to get his Class A rig into the spot. Actually a dangerous situation. The people next to me on the other side left their dog tethered at their site and it barked and barked and barked. From several sites away they would yell occasionally to “shut up”. The final straw was the park worker who began cutting dead tree limbs and running them through the wood chipper in the early a.m. all along the shoreline, which kicked up huge amounts of dust. Why on a busy weekend? He did apologize for the dust afterward. On the plus side, the location is conveniently located off the interstate and I didn’t hear any traffic noise. The hookups were good too. That being said, I don’t know if I’d give this park another chance.

For Gun Creek: Stayed in Eagle Loop. Arrived on a Thursday for a 2 night stay. Best spots are reservable and were taken. Approximately 10 spots were available in the Walk in area. Electric only. Nice concrete pad from your door to picnic table. Not even close to being level. Concrete picnic table in good shape but needs power washed. Clean shower facilities.

For Gun Creek: Stayed here on our grand adventure in our 40' fifth wheel. The back-in spaces were huge. Be sure to pick one that looks fairly level with a patio near your RV steps. We did not and our last step was a long one to the ground. Everything is paved and clean, super nice. We had full hookups including sewer for $12 with America the Beautiful pass.

For Gun Creek: Stayed here to watch the eclipse. Hot and crowded but otherwise enjoyable. Very nice well maintained facility as have been all ACE facility we have stayed at. Agree with other reviewers, wish they had spent more time creating level sites. If you are in a MotorHome, make sure you have blocks or jacks. Other than this, a great facility. I will go back.

For Gun Creek: Great park for us. Yes, some of the sites slope, ours did not. Glad to have full hookups, 50 amp, water and sewer! Could have used some WiFi, but satellite was good for TV. Plenty of room at the site, would have like to have the patio extend to the front for of our MH.
Good rates, close to interstate, but still quiet, great diners close by.....we will return here!

Don from TN

For Gun Creek: Usually Corps of Engineers parks are of great value, especially with one of the Senior passes. However, this park needs some help. First of all, the majority of sites in this park are sloped to the point where leveling a motor home requires that you take either the front or rear wheels off the ground, which is not a good thing. Second, the grass in our site looked as if it had not been mowed for at least two weeks. We saw campers, probably locals familiar with the park, who brought their own lawn mowers to cut the grass. Also, our electric box had a huge wasp nest in the lid and it was only by luck that we weren't stung. This means that whoever does the site maintenance and cleanup is not checking these things.
Since we camp frequently in Tennessee parks this park was very disappointing compared to the quality of most all the Corps parks in TN. The price was a bargain since we chose an electric only site at $8.
The park was close to the Interstate and a convenient place to stay for one night since we were only passing through.

For Gun Creek: Sites are not real level. Nice stay though once we got that worked out.
