For Park Creek Campground: After spending a month car-camping at about 15 different campgrounds, I've decided this place was my favorite. Quiet. Isolated. Several private sites along a small pond. Wildlife. Stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights, but I wish I stayed longer. Services were basic - outhouse and a water pump but both were in decent condition. I got the feeling the place had only recently opened for the summer - it was mid-July but there were 1-2 minutes of snow flurries/sleet one afternoon and a dusting atop the nearby peak. Nights were cold. Bugs were few. Days were brilliant. Many nearby paths to explore and gather downed wood for campfires. Overall, a true hidden gem for car campers looking to get away!
Note: the drive from mackay is longer but smoother (and more scenic) than the route from sun valley.
