For Hells Gate State Park: Stayed in July and it was hot as Hells Canyon so I stayed in one of the air conditioned cabins. Didn’t see many tenters only RVs with AC running. Cabins were expensive but worth it for a couple of days. Recommend staying here but maybe not in July.

For Hells Gate State Park: Very nice State Park. On the Snake River. Most sites are water and power only. Dump station is at entrance to the park. Lots of shade trees, which was nice since it was in high 90's during our July stay. Both back in and pull through's able to accommodate all rigs. Weekend summer reservations would be advised.

For Hells Gate State Park: A nice large campground, on the river and in July when we were there, it was a parade of jet boats heading towards, or from Hells Canyon. The throbbing roars and sight was fun, not annoying. We were in the tent loop, so we were dry camping, and that was fine. It can get hot here, but it is mostly shady. Recommend.

For Hells Gate State Park: Stayed in the loop at the very end for tents. Good sites with good shade but not much privacy. Decent bathrooms. Easy walk or bike ride to the day use beach swimming area. Close to town! They also have disc golf, hiking/biking trails, and a museum.

For Hells Gate State Park: Lots of trails everywhere, and so much to do makes this park really nice. There is swimming access to the river. The camping spaces were large, though not really private. It was $37/night there for out of state campers for water and electricity.
If you go, check out the free Jack O'Connor museum. It is really well done and a neat tribute.
