For Custer Campground: 6 sites set off road in ancient rock slide area. Nice scrambling for kids. Well shaded. Empty on 2nd weekend in Sept. Looks to be little used. 1.5 miles up mountain from Custer ghost town. Road is dirt but easily handled by any vehicle. Road past campsite gets steep and rough. Several other NF campgrounds before and after this one, with multiple very nice boondocking sites along side of Yankee Fork river. Beautiful place!
