For Lava Flow - Craters of the Moon National Monument: Very nicely maintained campground with plenty of water stations and beautiful views. The night sky is amazing - you can see the whole Milky Way. The lava rocks soak up and hold the heat , so even at the 6000 ft elevation with the cool night air it stays hot in the campground. All spaces ar FCFS, but there were plenty of open sites.

For Lava Flow - Craters of the Moon National Monument: Beautiful paved sites with lava rocks and wildflowers around. Some shade but trees aren’t very tall. Flush toilets with cold water sink restrooms were well placed. Several hand water pumps around but not for filling your RV tank. Be sure to fill up your water tank in Arco at Jack’s twenty miles away before heading to park. Great park for $15/$7.50 Sr. Usually fills up by mid afternoon.

For Lava Flow - Craters of the Moon National Monument: Stayed in tent at site #16. Tight space, little privacy, no trees, no protection from sun. Site was paved/crushed lava rock. Otherworldly place, fantastic night sky. A must-visit place.

For Lava Flow - Craters of the Moon National Monument: Totally unplugged camping. Nice level spots among the lava fields. Only $15 a night. There is a fresh water fill up but no dump station. The area is exactly what you think you’d experience if you were on the moon. Even though the CG is in the middle of nowhere, the CG filled every night I was there. The night sky is AWESOME. Would return.

For Lava Flow - Craters of the Moon National Monument: Nice sites among the lava fields. It is a primitive site, but only $15, which you pay at a machine: by credit card, much more convenient then the enveloppes with a lengthy registration process and only cash or checks.

For Lava Flow - Craters of the Moon National Monument: Cool campground in lava field but very few spots for large trailers. We got there around 3pm on a rainy, 47 degree day in September(9/18/17) and there was only one site left that was big enough for our 31ft TT. Very few sites left period. There would be no shade for hot summer days. Sites have asphalt pads and ranger warns you to stay on the pads as the crushed lava rock is sharp and will puncture tires.

For Lava Flow - Craters of the Moon National Monument: Stopped to see the park and ended up staying for 3 days in the campground, surrounded by lava rock. The kids enjoyed the cave hiking and ranger tours right at the camp. Dry camp is the only reason not 4 stars. 15$ a night. No reservations. First come first serve but I saw high turnover rate so if you arrive early morn you'll get a spot.
