For Ottumwa City Park: Tent camping area is remote and it was a very dirty site with lots of trash on the ground. Lots of trash in the fire pit and a very long walk to the bathroom/ showers RV sites look much better and facilities are close to them. Also $20 for tent camping sites being the same price as a RV site is crazy. Especially considering the RV sites have water and electric and the tent sites have nothing. Tents not allowed to be set up on a RV site.

For Ottumwa City Park: What a lovely park!. Lots of big shade trees with fields of clover and grass. Nice walkway along the Des Moines River. We paid $18 cash for a water and electric hookup. you can use a credit card for an extra two dollars. They do have a dump. They do not take reservations, but there are 150 sites so it is unlikely they would be full.

For Ottumwa City Park: I live near this campground and we use it each year at the beginning of the year to make sure we are ready to camp further distances away. I wish I could say great things about this campground but it's kinda dirty...bathrooms are kinda gross and it could the campground could use a makeover. Four laneHighway is very close to campground as well so you can hear traffic all night long. They do allow camp fires. Cost is $15 per night for electricity and water. It has a dump station.
