For Bob Shetler: Stayed here two nights mid June 2023. Traveling in a Class C. Nice greeting when arrived at campground Excellent signage to find site. Partial shade, not a lot of privacy , but nice sized spaces. Below the dam, so no view of lake from campground Nice sunset from on top of the dam. Bathrooms older , but clean. I didn’t use the shower, but my husband did once and he said that the water never got warm. Close to trails for biking , running, etc. Has picnic tables and fire rings. Electric only. Close to Des Moines. Can’t beat the price of COE campgrounds. Would come back.

For Bob Shetler: Nice weekend location. We stayed in the west campground which is a smaller portion of the CG. Sites were gravel, reasonably spacious, and fairly level. Shade varies depending on site. The host was pleasant and outgoing. The volunteer was seen several times a day completing chores. The shower room was dirty on Saturday night, but the location is near public areas and this is a busy place on the weekends. There is lake, pond, and river canoeing/kayaking/boating/fishing near; as well as access the the Neil Smith all purpose trail.

For Bob Shetler: The campground was clean and spacious and the attendants pleasant.
The directions to the campground were ridiculous taking us miles and miles out of our way. Exiting at 129 from I80 and heading north would have saved many miles.
