For Amana Colonies RV Park: Beautiful, peaceful, very clean, easy access not too far pff the highway but a country setting. Gate two is past the event center, just continue down the road and it’s well marked. Our site ended up being a pull through, everyone was very kind and it’s beautiful!

For Amana Colonies RV Park: Although it’s a bit away from I80 to avoid the noise and quiet. I was not happy when I found that although they said they had 30 amp electric they put my 28 foot trailer in A place that had ONLY 50 amp and then charged me $50/DAY MORE for a camp site to RENT a 50 to 30 amp adapter at $50/ DAY!!! Are you kidding me?? The camp grounds in April were nearly empty! AND I could not even Buy an adapter at the office! PLEASE … change that policy or you will LOOSE BUSINESS!! Big time! I ended up going into Iowa city and buying an adapter for $17! Go figure! Other then that I’d rate it at a 5. Nice quiet winter/ spring spot. I’d stay again IF they didn’t have The adapter policy.

For Amana Colonies RV Park: You must use Gate Two to check in. But there are no signs to get to Gate Two. You will be scolded by Mrs. Grouch at the desk. Mr. Grouch will accuse you of drinking. Be sure to close the door after entering the the check-in building or you will be yelled at by Mrs. Grouchy pants. It was truly a horrible experience checking in. Mr. G will guide you to your site. If you don’t like shade, you’re in the the right place. If you like thousands of flies, you’re in the right place. If you need to do laundry, you’ll have to find it yourself because they will tell you”It’s on the map.” But it’s not. This is the worst campground we’ve ever been to. If weren’t so close to the hospital where my brother had just had emergency brain surgery, we would have not stayed here one minute.

For Amana Colonies RV Park: Very level, easy to find. Facilities are very clean and well kept. Front office staff was very accomodating and helpful. But the man that took us to our site was gruff and unhappy. Later, he guided a coach into hitting a friend's car onsite. Buildings were well kept and clean and bright. The ONLY downside to this facility is the dust from the gravel roads. Truly annoying. Seeped into every crevice of our motorhome, coating everything inside with a fine, gritty white film. Aggravated allergies and was just overall uncomfortable. The sewer connections are at least 8" above grade, so coaches that air-level may have to hand-feed the black water out of the hose. We camped at Amana RV Park & Event Center in a Motorhome.

For Amana Colonies RV Park: The sights are very long and are gravel. Be sure to check the location of your service connections before leaving registration. You could end up backed into a site with your electric and water on the wrong side requiring extensions. While we were there the park was hosting a large MH rally. The traffic within the park was bearable but the interior roads be gravel turned to dust with each passing vehicle. The park should have watered the roads daily to help control the dust.

Frequent Traveler

For Amana Colonies RV Park: Sites are gravel, long, and level. But they put 2 RV’s in each site... first can do a pull-thru, second must do a back-in. You are back-to-back with someone else. Verify the hookups are on the correct side for your rig before being taken to your site. We had to move because the hookups were on the wrong side of our rig. Picnic table. Quiet. FHU-50 amp. Grass between sites. They have free & premium wifi. Speed of free one depends upon how many are using it in the RV park; the RV park was quite full when we were there so wifi was challenging. Someone leads you to your site. Internal road are good for big-rigs. Would stay here again.

For Amana Colonies RV Park: Stayed two nights. Very quiet. Park wasn’t full at all. Staff was very nice and accommodating. No shade if that’s important to you. Nice laundry and WiFi was good. Would stay again.
