For Red Gate Campground and RV Resort: Third time staying here. Obviously, we like it. Beautiful farm setting near downtown Savannah. This time the only open site was dry camping near the volleyball court. Close to the trains, but fine for one night.

For Red Gate Campground and RV Resort: We spent two weeks here in our 34 ft 5th wheel. Like any place there are pros and cons.
Pros: 200 acres to hike and roam on. 4-5 ponds to fish on. A beautiful pool with the best lounge chairs I’ve ever seen at a park yet. Horses, goats, peacocks and cats! All well cared for. For a fee you can ride the horses or take a carriage ride. You can pet the goats, horses and cats. Beautiful landscaping! Gravel sites that get good satellite. Open field in front of sites so it feels open. Staff is awesome! They came and let our dogs out during lunch one day so we could site see. You can schedule a trolly pick up for $30.95 that has on off until 4:30pm. Laundry looks nice, we didn’t use it though. Bathrooms at pool are just darling!
Cons: it is right near a highway and busy train track. I love trains so it wasn’t too bad for me. Never woke us up. Ants ants everywhere! However I’ve seen hills every place in savannah! Worst for us was they have 4 venues for weddings on land. On weekends you can hear music and/or base from reception.
I think the pros way outweigh the cons!

For Red Gate Campground and RV Resort: You cannot beat the location if you want to spend time in Savannah or just passing through. Easy to get to and close to Interstate. Beautiful grounds, lovely to walk around and enjoy the horses, goats, and small lake. Manager was very accommodating and always available to answer questions. Camping area is mostly a large open space without shade but a few lucky spots get shaded. Some electrical unit pedestals are low to ground & if you have a EMS, it won’t fit. Thankfully we had an extension for it. We lost water one morning for a few hours, something to do with flooding?? Not sure, but it was somethng the park maintenance people took care of quickly. For Savannah visitors, the old town trolley tours will pick you up & bring you back to the campground. Laundry and bath facilities were clean and kept up.

For Red Gate Campground and RV Resort: This is a wonderful place to stay. So near Savannah and everything it has to offer. This setting here is so relaxing on this 440 acre area. Plenty of things to do from fishing to a beautiful swimming pool to swinging near the pond, walking, looking at all the farm animals and horses & the beautiful huge Live Oak trees. Lots were spacious and the staff was wonderful. Very comforting place to stay that is very inviting. We will definitely be back again. 😊

NH Leen
For Red Gate Campground and RV Resort: Stayed for 4 nights en-route to Florida - and since this was where we “de-winterized†perhaps my happiness was due to once again having potable water on hand! Seriously, we enjoyed this park very much. The pros: WIDE sites. On-site propane available. Nice clubhouse for hanging out. Close to shopping and downtown (complete with convenient park pickup for the trolley), approx 1.3 miles of walking on gravel roads, beautiful horses and cute goats, plus a salt water pool we just weren’t hardy enough to try in January. The cons: Railroad noise several times a night. Occasional military helicopters or jets from the base nearby. Infrequent “rotten egg†smell. None of the cons bothered us - our cat wakes us more all night than the train, and since our son is a pilot, we are used to always looking up anytime we hear a plane, LOL. We will definitely stay here again.

Brock
For Red Gate Campground and RV Resort: Easy. This place was just plain easy. From the location, to the easy access of spaces, to check in, to the large lots but small number of guests, to the bucolic pastoral setting, this place made RVing easy. Like the previous comments stated, it’s very close to downtown and both the trolley and Uber/Lyft are accessible and affordable. If you are in town to check out Savannah this is the best place to stay. We will be back here again.
