For Amicalola Falls State Park: We have been Airstreaming for 7 years now and this the best place we have stayed. Despite the mega mountain climb and tight spots, this campground is quiet and scenic. Can ride (bikes) into National forest from campground. And can hike AT approach trail and visit High Shoals Baptist Church which is 2 miles into the forest. Free laundry, hot showers, walk to falls, trails, lodge, and big field for pups to play fetch. We have a 30ft travel trailer and diesel pusher which was necessary for the steep climb but doable. Highly recommend for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers.

For Amicalola Falls State Park: One of the nicer state campgrounds we have stayed in. The campgrounds are angled so they are easy to back in to. The steepness of the road in to the campsite was a concern for the park staff. They recommend that you keep your speed up so you can make the hill into the campground . I have a small 24' 5th wheel and a powerful diesel truck so the hill was not a problem. The road was narrow and curvy and I was happy that I didn't meet a large rig that was coming down the road. The road in to the campsites probably limits the size of RVs more than the actual Rv spaces. The road in the campground are paved and the campsites are gravel that is well contained by wood curbing. The grass is removed from the gravel sites but the area Between the sites have grass. Each site has a fire pit and also a grill. The campground has a basketball area and a horse shoe pit. The center of the campground has a large covered area with four picnic tables and probably room for eight. It would be a great place for a group camping and I don't know what you have to do to reserve the covered area.
The area has lots of hiking trails that are centered on a gorgeous waterfall and cascading stream. The hiking does require some work and has over 400 steps. They do have another trail in to waterfall for those that have trouble with steps. The visitor center is not large but is very nice and has some excellent displays.
Recommend it highly and would have given it 5 stars if road was not as narrow.

For Amicalola Falls State Park: Great place to stay! Wonderful sites. Book early as there are only 24 sites. The hill up is a $#%?"&, 20' rigs can make it. The falls alone are worth the trip.
