For Zachary Taylor Camping Resort: This resort is along Taylor Creek with Rv sites and cabins for rent. Frindly owners and staff that go above and beyond to make accommodations for everyone. Have all sorts of activities throughout the week along with a swimming pool, pickleball court, horseshoes and such. Shopping close by.

For Zachary Taylor Camping Resort: Must give them credit for being friendly, wearing masks and finding us a site at the last moment during peak season, but the stress of the in-and-out and extreme closeness of sites was a deal-breaker for us. People are very social and friendly, lots of activities, even during the pandemic. Wifi was horrible, heated pool was closed temporarily due to a 40-degree night. We did score a waterfront site with a cute little dock. We really enjoyed sitting out there with adult beverages to watch the sunset, boats, and all the pelicans and comorants while they jockeyed for roost positions. We would not return, but then we don't usually participate in all the social activities anyway. Those who do, and those who don't mind such close quarters might just love it. There is also questionable access to the nearby paved trail around the lake. There was a locked gate the first day, then the second it was open. To avoid being stuck, one should talk to the lock operator about that. We did not think there should be a locked gate at a trail access point. The trail around the lake in up on the levee and is very long, unshaded and sparsely used with no potties. We chose the longer southward direction during our stay. Another access point is 2-1/2 miles south of the rv park.
