For Monument Lake - Big Cypress National: I give it 5-stars because it delivers what you would expect from a National Park Campground. It is located deep in the Everglades, at least as deep as you can get on a paved road. it is located just off the Tamiami Trail the popular route between Naples and Miami. It is also located about a mile from the Midway NP campground which has FHU's with a central water and dump station for those staying in Monument Lake. When you stay at Monument Lake the hose gives you a coupon or some such that allows you to dump and get fresh water at Midway. No clue about any amenities, restrooms, showers, wifi, etc., we are self contained and do not utilize any of those. It is exactly what we expect from a dry camp site, nice level sites, in a safe environment and well maintained. Nothing to grouse about. Would/will stay again.

For Monument Lake - Big Cypress National: We stayed 3 days. Caught windy cool weather. Camp hosts keep place very clean. Big alligator’s so had to be very watchful of our small dog. Camp host regularly patrols and relocates water moccasins. It’s the everglades. Great views. No hookups but can fill jug if needed outside of restroom. No shower. We are fully self contained B class and regularly boondock. Cellphone tower nearby so 5 bars and streaming tv. These types of sparse amenities are not uncommon in National Parks so we are not deducting any stars for the absence of hookups as we don’t use them anyway. Will add that Everglades City is quite close and Naples is only a 40 minute drive as well. And there is plenty of shopping including most popular names before hitting Naples.

For Monument Lake - Big Cypress National: The campground was empty on 12/8/18,the camp host turned away 2 senior citizens who had been on the road traveling for 8 hours because of no online reservations !!

For Monument Lake - Big Cypress National: We stayed at Monument Lake campground for 4 days, and really enjoyed it. Most sites are lined up at the north end of the lake, but we stayed in site 2 on the south end. It was more.isolated and close to the water. The lake had 3 alligators, so we had to watch our pets when they were outside, as our RV was parked only 15 yards from the shoreline. The sites have no water or electric, but Verizon cell service is excellent and we received over a dozen TV stations over the air. We plan to.stay here again
