For Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park Campground: I’ve stayed here few times in the last few months. Location in convenient. Staff is super nice. Security guard always making rounds making it safe. Washhouses super clean. Laundry machines are clean and modern. They use an app/web based service for payment. Pool is nice but I’ve never been able to take advantage of it because it closes at 5.

Keep It Simple
For Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park Campground: A clean, well laid out, large, safe-feeling campground. The staff was very friendly and one told me “it’s like a village here.” People were out walking dogs, rollerblading, and there was bingo in the community room as we pulled in. It was quiet at night and all the campsites are neatly kept. The bathrooms were large, clean, and their was a bath house and laundry for each section. We were parked near several huge motor homes, and we were able to leave our tow vehicle hooked up to our 25’ trailer with room to spare. We stayed one night but would stay again if we are in Miami.

For Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park Campground: This looks like a nice place. I do not know about breakin’s. I t is near my home and it seems like a lot of nice folks stay here (they invited me to a game of bocci ball while biking through). It is 10 minutes off of the FL Turnpike (Exit 16) right next to the zoo and 10 minutes east of Krome Avenue which is the leisurely Road to the west. At 15 miles SW of Miami and 1 hour north of the Florida Keys, it might be a good place to stop before you head north or south. There is a Publix Supermarket or is (new) Walmart Supercenter within a 10 minute bicycle ride. If you drive into the Redlands you can find any variety of tropical fruit.

For Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park Campground: This park had several positives for us:
1. Easy location and close to attractions and conveniences.
2. Clean restrooms and laundry areas convenient to “podsâ€.
3. Staff and security was friendly and kept an eye on things.
4. Full hookups and reasonably priced.
5. Quiet…quiet…quiet!!! Even though we were close to I75.
We would highly recommend this campground!!!

Maris
For Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park Campground: Our Ford F-250 King Ranch 4x4 diesel got stolen in the middle of the day from right in front of our RV at this park. This state park is NOT secure! We just purchased this vehicle and we did not drive it. Whomever stole our truck was an insider that cased the place. It is very scary to know that guests cannot feel secure here. Talking to neighbors today we found that theft of bicycles and other items here is common. We wish we would have known earlier.

For Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park Campground: Nice park, lot pads are small yellow poles are a pain. Not much privacy. Clean restrooms. Nice pool. Good security. Good price, nice friendly staff.

Stuart
For Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park Campground: A dog park rather than an RV park. Two dogs tied up outside next door 24/7 and barking all night. Other dogs roaming free. Dog poop everywhere. The first thing you want when arriving late on a hot summers day is to have a swim but the pool shuts at 5pm. We bailed out after one night.
