For Thousand Palms Resort: Called and booked reservation for 3 nights late February. Told by agent on phone would have nice level site with WiFi and cable tv. Arrived and was led to campsite that was not level and probably Had a 6 degree downhill slant to it. I had to take site as all other campgrounds sold out due to the snowbird season. Coax cable laying on the ground in pieces (left by previous tenant). Could not find cable hookup...called the office and they sent person to check it out. He said there was no hookup at this site. Said we would have to run at least 100 feet of cable to another site if we wanted tv. Forget it...did without. Used the antenna. Found out later a long time tenant had just left site so that is why it was in disarray. Finally got camper unhooked and took forever to get level due to ruts and very sandy conditions. Had to put power tongue jack up as high as I could and blocks under one side of tires. To top it off we were the site closest to the 4 lane highway and boat dock where the big air boats cranked up their engines. 3 nights of hell. Other campers said we had been given the worst spot in campground and they would not be back next year either due to boat and highway noise. After tracking down the owner he said how sorry he was (yada yada yada) and said no refunds or splitting the bill or any discounts. Offered to let me come back in the off season for 3 nites free...big deal. No way would we come back to this mess. Roads in camp were terrible...potholes and ruts. Worst part when leaving was trying to hook up with my truck in a downhill slant trying to back up. Finally got hitched up and bibi. $70 including tax a nite just a big rip off. Found out when leaving and talking to another camper is that the reservation agents are up in Michigan at another park with same ownership. Campers be ware. Worst park we stayed at in the past 3 months.

For Thousand Palms Resort: Generally congenial people...most seem to be long term residents...nothing makes this park/resort worthy of a return visit....four lanes of traffic with constant noise, lessens at night for a few hours...wifi is allocated at your site, ostensibly unlimited in the library and activity center but is poor, don't try to do a cloud backup unless you have plenty of time.
