For Rainbow Springs State Park: Site was spacious and level. The grounds were not as nice as some of the other Florida state parks we have been at. Full hookups and dump station if needed. Verizon cell signal fair, 1-2 bars. No Wifi. Canoe and kayak rental available at campground. 3 stars as I felt the grounds were neglected a bit and poor cell service, other than that nice place.

For Rainbow Springs State Park: “Rainbow Springs & Dunnellon amazing... campground not so muchâ€
Arrived at address sent in campground email confirmation and it was the wrong location. No challenge, figured out just had to drive a mile further up the road. Drove to the right entrance and discovered gate is closed (at 12noon) need passcode to enter. No challenge, drove back to Dunnellon and found a great place to rent a tandem kayak and enjoy Rainbow Springs for the afternoon. Several great restaurants in Dunnellon as well.
When we kayaked to Rainbow Springs discovered that the best part of the state park isn't even close to the campground, 7 mile drive by car or few miles rowing upstream via kayak. We've stayed at many Florida State Parks and have been amazed how well kept up and clean, not so much here. All the buildings need updating, tiles missing from shower walls. For whatever reason a neglected campground, compared to over ten other Florida State Parks we've camped at this year.
Swimming area main Rainbow Springs state park awesome! Swimming area at campground, not so much.

For Rainbow Springs State Park: Great campsite. Need a code to get through the gate upon arriving... call ahead to get it if you will be arriving late. Walk to area to launch kayak/canoe/SUP fairly long and cart onsite is in poor shape... bring your own cart if you plan to carry watercraft to the river. The river itself is great! We did SUP in both directions and also snorkled; excellent visibility and lots of fish for a freshwater river. Campsites are spacious, bathrooms are clean and well-maintained, cell service is fair, no WIFI. Highly recommended!

For Rainbow Springs State Park: Stayed 3 nights in 35’ class A. Sites are spacious, level and either paved or hard rock/gravel. South loop has shaded spots with foliage between. Full and relatively new hook ups. Well maintained campground. Short walk to visitors center and river and canoe rentals. Head springs are a 45 min paddle upstream or a 6 mile drive, both through beautiful country.

For Rainbow Springs State Park: Stayed here in 40" Class A. We were in site 9, but most sites large enough for large rigs. Site 9 has 50 amp, FHU. Very private sites. Beautiful springs, plenty of interesting things to do. (Tubing, kayaking, hiking, bar hopping, etc....) Already planning our return trip.

For Rainbow Springs State Park: Absolutely beautiful campground. Private sites, nicely maintained, helpful park rangers, kayak and canoe fees are reasonable, and the most beautiful clean springs I've ever seen. I wish it wasn't so hard to get a weekend here though. My favorite park so far.

For Rainbow Springs State Park: The attention to detail is evident through out this camp ground. Every detail from private LEVEL RV sites, clean large showers with HOT water, and knowledgeable friendly staff are just the beginning.
When we first arrived there were no available sites. We were in the RV about to leave and the head ranger met us at the RV to apologize and asked that we please come back to visit another time. We thanked him and again about to leave when the reservation clerk bolted out the door and ran out to our RV explaining she just had a cancellation. She had put the guy on hold to run out and catch us before we left. A wonderful and pleasant experience. Very cool!!!!!
