For Carpios Ridge - Trinidad Lake State Park: We got one of the seven full hook up sites and it was very nice. Gravel site next to the facility building . Narrow roads but good access . Nice walking trails and nice areas. Good for dogs on leash .

For Carpios Ridge - Trinidad Lake State Park: There are a few very nice sites but most are only suitable for tent campers. Campground roads are narrow with big drop offs. Most sites are gravel and not level. Nice trails with lake views. No access to the lake. Caution with children in this campground; there are many sites with dangerous drop offs .

For Carpios Ridge - Trinidad Lake State Park: Excellent place to camp! It's very clean, spacious, and beautiful. The morning air is filled with the delightfully refreshing smell of Cedar from the surrounding trees. It was very easy maneuvering my 30’ Arctic Fox travel trailer into my site. I will stop here again on my future annual travels from Gulf Shores, Alabama to Wyoming.

For Carpios Ridge - Trinidad Lake State Park: Very nice campground. Good level sites in a circular pattern with several loops. We were along the lake, but not in a site with a real lake view. Restrooms/showers were very well kept. 2 AT&T bars so we had cell service. This is about the lake - I didn’t see much in the way of trails to interest me.

For Carpios Ridge - Trinidad Lake State Park: Our first Colorado State Park and we’re less than impressed. Only a very few concrete spots. Our gravel spot was so slanted that if we’d been any longer than 23’ we couldn’t have stayed. We had electric only. Water was “shared†but none within a useable distance (over 200 ft away). Restrooms and laundry were clean but Colorado isn’t going to give away water. 50 cents for a 3 minute shower. You’re also charged a fee for your tow vehicle $8/day). Only trash facility was over 100 yards away and was overflowing. Won’t be returning to Trinidad. Interesting museums but head shops on every corner. Seems like Colorado could spend some of that cannabis tax income to fix up their parks.

For Carpios Ridge - Trinidad Lake State Park: This is a beautiful place. The facilities are decent. Our site, #13, was difficult to back into with a 28’ trailer, due to the condition of the road at the time. The people next to us struggled as well, and they had a tiny pop up trailer. Other sites are excellent.

For Carpios Ridge - Trinidad Lake State Park: Pleasant stop between Texas and spots further north in Colorado. We stay here often. We reserve 61 - a pull through- when we don’t want to unhitch. 6 is the best full hookup site. Some decent hiking trails. The town of Trinidad is worth exploring one afternoon. One mark against - regular sites have electric, but no water.
