For Bear Creek Lake Park: Spacious level sights with good views. Electric only, but dump and water area near buy.
Lots to do in the area; biking, hiking, archery range, horse back riding, kayaking, and Denver is near. Red Rocks Amphitheater is just minutes away.
Reserve early especially for weekends.

For Bear Creek Lake Park: First, getting a camping spot near Denver is often difficult, so this campground is appreciated and we have stayed here many times. It has electric, but no water, like many campgrounds in Colorado, so be prepared.
Pros: The sites we have stayed in are large enough for our 38' 5th wheel, plus lots of room for cars, and better spaced than anything else this side of town. The sites are level, the showers clean (cost $'s tho'), and the host is very nice. It's in the middle of Lakewood's Bear Creek Lake Park, and has lots of biking, walking, and bird viewing. There's an archery range and horseback riding, as well as the creek and a lake. Red Rocks Amphitheater is just to the west, so when they're having concerts, you can see the lights, but don't usually hear the music.
Con: This nice little park is right where two major highways intersect. The lights and highway noise, while being part of city life, don't make for the best "outdoor" experience.
Overall, it's a great park for being on the edge of a major city. For weekend stays, make your reservations early, if possible.
