For KOA Journey La Junta: I think we are going to avoid most KOA’s for future stops. I am disappointed that they cost so much money. The value isn’t there. This one is in a small town so I didn’t expect much but I am disappointed that I called to get pricing and it was $40... which was already high compared to many beautiful spots we have stayed at with way more amenities for $20-30... but once we get here it’s $40+$5 for a kid+$5 tax. Why do places charge for a small kid? What does it cost you? I would imagine it would provide things for kids to do? Well their “park†is an old slide. The pool is closed but I can’t say I’d swim in it anyway. Super close and tight spots. Right off the highway, super close to train tracks, and close to a shooting range. The guy up front was nice, but the other things really made me grumpy for the amount we paid to stay. Stop if you must, but be warned that the cost does not equal the value here. Stayed early April 2019.

For KOA Journey La Junta: We where told that there was an “event†planned when we checked in. Little did we know that there would be a Halloween party with music and noise blaring till after 10 PM. For the park, the sites are gravel and very tight If the RV has slides it has barely enough space. Don’t stay here if you expect a restful night

For KOA Journey La Junta: We got here after a long day in the road expecting to get some rest. We where told that they would have “ a special event “ tonight. We should have asked more questions because they had a Halloween party. It would have been ok but the music was at a concert level. Our glasses shook inside the RV. It is remenicent of being in front of a speaker in a rock concert. From the layout of the RV Park, the sites are fairly level gravel. We have slides on both sides of our RV and we had to maneuver our rig several times in order not to hit the power pole or the tree. Had the told us that they would blare the music till 10 PM would have moved on or spent a more quiet night somewhere else. It was the worst camping fee I have spent in the last 30 years of camping

For KOA Journey La Junta: Pretty good for a one nighter as there's not much on the ag side of Colorado to see. Level sites, large pull thrus (no need to unhook the toad), good electricity and water pressure. Can't speak to the bathrooms or showers. Must be new owners or helpers as mom had to wait for teenage son to help check us in? Seemed to be a clean park, friendly but clueless staff.

For KOA Journey La Junta: We were scheduled for a 1 night stop here on 7/3/16 on our way home from MO. I am sure this is probably a nice park? I didn't get to find out. I called to cancel because my Mother passed away on 7/2 and our trip was delayed due to funeral. When I called I was assured we would rec'v refund (prepaid charge). After over a month I discovered I had NOT received a refund. I had been charged the full amount because I had'nt given a 48 hour notification. I was NOT advised this when I first called. So on a 4000 mile trip I stayed at 3 KOA's and honestly will NEVER stay at another - EVER!!! Brad the new owner was gracious enough to refund my charge less a $10 cancellation fee, but only after a phone call once My bill came and there wasn't a refund as previously stated. Brad gets 3 stars because he worked with me otherwise KOA gets a ZERO!

For KOA Journey La Junta: Stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time with the kids in a tent trailer. Very clean camp site and hot showers! Office is only open from 8-10 and 4-6. Very friendly staff. Kids loved the playgroud and miniature golf. Cute pet area as well.
