For Sand Dunes Swimming Pool RV Park: We camped on site 13 of the dry RV campsites. Sites are pull through with Picknick table and fire ring on sand/gravel, little vegetation . Cost of 30$ per night out of price-value range. Full hook up sites, costs 40$ have more privacy through bushes/trees, especially site 10 is nice. Area for tents looks good, too. The pool is huge with nice thermal water. The pool facility is a bit run down, not as clean as I would like to see. Again value doesn’t match the price.

For Sand Dunes Swimming Pool RV Park: This place is literally an oasis in the middle of nowhere. The feature is the hot springs. The camp sites are sandy with some small trees between lots in the RV are with power and water. We had Lot 10 at the which has the largest outdoor area with a picnic table and fire pit. The staff is super friendly. The is a very clean shower/laundry center, a dish washing station and a dump site. The pool are is clean and there are multiple eating areas and a gift shop. Best of all, they are multiple dog friendly!! We have 4 and there was plenty of area to walk them in and they are permitted in the pool area (not the pool). There is a small pond and plenty of birds and rabbits around. Although, there isn’t much else in the area to do, this is a great place to stay, especially if you have kids.

For Sand Dunes Swimming Pool RV Park: Excellent large 100° pool for soaking or swimming. 2 diving boards in very deep end. Huge shallow area for just hanging out.
Smaller very hot pool under cover is usually 107° and is flow through so clean.
Camping from full hookup to dispersed dry camping. Make reservations if you want hookup. Dry dispersed camping across the street never full. Interesting that an active runway exists in the dispersed area.
We find this a good spot to use for at least a week, if not longer.
In the sun it’s hot, but in the shade there’s a gentle breeze and at night it can get cold. All good.
Prices are good. Hook up: $35, Dry: $25 Dispersed: $10.
Staff layed back and attentive. Food is very good.
Alamosa, Walmart, is 25 miles away.

For Sand Dunes Swimming Pool RV Park: Just checked out from this campground after a couple of days. I could write things here but I will refer you to the last post from July 2, 2019. That was an excellent review and the place is just like he left it. Staff is really nice.

For Sand Dunes Swimming Pool RV Park: This is one of those kind of quirky places that makes total sense once you get here. What it is is a hot springs pool that gets a lot of its business from locals. For instance, the swimming pool offers swimming lessons. If you're driving by the Great Sand Dunes, hop over for a swim and a shower. There are also some RV and camping spots and you get a discount at the pool if you're camping here. The RV spots are OK but nothing to write home about.
The pool facility is a pretty darn big pool that's at about 90 degrees. There's also a snack shop, gift shop, and changing areas. Attached to the pool facility is "The Greenhouse" which is only available to 21 and over -- because -- you can buy liquor as well as some light food options. It costs an extra $3 person (if you're camping) to get in. There's a nice soaking pool, a DAMN HOT tub at 110 degrees and two other tubs at lower temperatures as well as a sauna. Massage is also available.
The entire pool facility is closed for cleaning on Thursday.
An interesting factoid is that, of course, they don't heat any of the water -- they cool the water. Another factoid is that they use this same water for the toilets!
If you're visiting the Great Sand Dunes AND would like to add a relaxing soak or a swim AND you have to stay someplace anyway, this is a pretty darn good option. This would be a no brainer if you have kids to at least swing by and let them go for a swim.
This is the kind of "out of the way" place you'll tell everyone you "found" when you get back from your trip.

For Sand Dunes Swimming Pool RV Park: What a nice little sanctuary we’ve come across,, the hot Springs are amazing and they have a adults only area, which is called their Green House. Loved it here.. I wish I could stay longer.. but we’re trying to stay ahead of the weather

For Sand Dunes Swimming Pool RV Park: FIVE STAR
Huge warm outdoor swimming pool (94°) and large covered hot spring (106°) and a greenhouse with multiple hot pools for an additional couple bucks. 10 level electric/water RV spots with remote dump. 10+ dry level RV spots. Bring your own shade as its limited. Thursday is irrigation day with local vegetation temporarily flooded with clean water that is absorbed by nightfall. Thursday is also pool and tub cleaning day. The operation is closed to bathing but the RV Park is open.
Overall a beautiful operation. Neat and clean. Kid friendly.
Great grill with adequate menu.
