For Durango North Riverside: We may have gotten the presidential space, backed right up to the Animas River with mature shade trees a small patio and fire ring. We enjoyed the moonlight on the river and rolling sounds lulled us to sleep. Bathrooms were clean and the entire KOA was very clean and well cared for. We were travel across the country during the pandemic and they still were able to accommodate young children, heated pool, pizza and ice cream shop on site! Lovely bike rides through the whole site and bubbling hot springs just down the road. Durango was close enough but also far enough to get you into the mountain and enjoy the natural surroundings! A little pricey compared to some other options in the area, but was happy to pay for the spot we had!

For Durango North Riverside: They do not allow you to use WiFi hotspots to be used here. You’ve been warned.

Full time family

For Durango North Riverside: We were very excited about this campground and Durango as a whole. Durango itself did not disappoint, but the rudeness and awful treatment we experienced at this KOA tainted the overall experience in a way that we will not soon forget. We stayed at a riverside site for over a week during the low season and still paid nearly $90 per night with kids fees. All kids amenities were closed and the lot was almost empty but we were told it just was the way it was in Durango. I’m fine with paying a premium when the park is all open and at its full potential, but that was only part of the frustration. The true issue here is the horrible attitude that comes from the owners. They treat you as if you are a problem the minute you have a request or ask for a solution to a problem with their site. Taking care of your customer should be priority, and overcoming challenges is just part of the hospitality business in which they are in. We have been full timing for nearly a year and have never experienced the rudeness that we did at the Northside KOA in Durango. I never leave negative reviews, but felt people need to know what they are in for here. Try the any other location in Durango, it will save you money and frustration.....

For Durango North Riverside: I looked at several campgrounds on All Stays and decided on this one. I was very glad I did. The campground is located on US-550 North of Durango on the Animas River. The campground is very clean and the staff quite friendly. The rates vary and are based on site location. I felt the river sites were a bit pricey so I opted for one in another section. Only a few things they could improve on and some they cannot. I was told the ladies shower is not heated whereas the men's is. The office/store closed at 1700, it would have been nice if they stayed open a little longer. After Memorial weekend they do stay open a little longer. The camp roads are a little narrow and the sites a little small making it difficult to park a tow vehicle without extending into the roads. There are lots of trees so use caution maneuvering with your unit so as not to hit any of the low lying limbs like I did.

For Durango North Riverside: Far from town IMO but such a nice area. wifi is pretty much non-existent. Not the place to go if you need to work from your RV (the " lodge" also poor wifi). We had a place on the river which was beautiful. Unfortunate that sites are so close together we had neighbors sewer hose connect right next to our picnic table - walked around and many do (sites on the water)
