For Peregrine Pines FamCamp: Dusty. Reservation system not agile. “Lacks Situational Awareness”. 12 Night Stay - 17 Foot Casita - They assign you the site - You like it or lump it - Many nice sites - I just got a bad one and couldn’t get a better one - Site 105 - Ease Side - like camping on a dirt road traffic circle - road on 3 sides of site - Trailer Curb Side to road - Big rigs good sites - they don’t fit in the corner sites like the one we had - Dust was an issue since our picnic table was right next to the road and our toy poodle basically drags the ground while she walks - West Side much better for smaller rigs - but since our stay was one day past West Side winter closing date we were on the East Side Biggest Gripe - not able to pick site, not able to change site. Reservation / site assignment system not transparent and not agile - employees unable to manage / predict open sites - it’s just too hard for them to use - Texas State Park System - is a 10 this is a 1. 2nd Gripe - dog rules and enforcement - dog must be in the presence of owner at all times - for some people - others can leave them in their pens - seems that owner knew the staff’s patrol patterns and could avoid detection - I was not as sharp — they do patrol Biggest Convenience - Very convenient to shopping on base - Local BX and Commissary small but acceptable

For Peregrine Pines FamCamp: We have stayed at many Famcamps and this by far is our favorite. It feels like a REAL campground surrounded by pine trees, birds, squirrels and Mountain View’s. We have a 42 ft 5th wheel and our site was huge pull through. It is hard packed dirt with pine needles/grass and pretty level. Easy hook ups and each site has picnic table and grill. They even had a van that went around in the evening selling cocktails ;)! Golf course is across the street and BX/Commissary close by. Employees were out everyday cleaning and all were extremely nice. They were even able to extend our stay with no problem.

For Peregrine Pines FamCamp: This was our first time staying at a FamCamp. We were staying in a different area but could smell smoke from the nearby wild fire. We called and they were able to get us in during the week. Of course the weekends were completely full. This campground is surrounded by tall beautiful pines. The natural grasses grow around the campsite but your immediate area with your picnic is sandy, gravel, pine needles. All natural. So not sure why people complain about mowing, etc. This is not a RV Park. You will not find concrete pads here and you are not parked like cars in a parking lot. Regarding the train. Yes, you can hear it. I think it comes by around 1am, 5am, 7:30am. It woke us up but we easily went back to sleep. If you’re a sensitive sleeper you should consider this. This base is beautiful. Laundry/showers/bathroom in our loop was very nice and clean. We would definitely stay here again. We found staff at the camp office to be very kind and helpful.

For Peregrine Pines FamCamp: Great famcamp, RV sites in a pine forest, good space between sites. Great place for families, lots of kids really enjoying themselves. Staff was friendly, courteous and helpful.Always nice to hear bugle at end of the day and hear the Star Spangled Banner-the “sound of freedom”, Best military campsite I have visited. Very highly recommended.

For Peregrine Pines FamCamp: Wonderful camp ground. Great sites with room to relax and very clean. We did not use showers or Laundry but were clean. Easy access onto base for any size rigs. One of the best we have stayed at. WiFi is not good unless you are close to Shower/Laundry. Lots of trees so need to pay attention when driving/parking around campground.

For Peregrine Pines FamCamp: Not family friendly at all. I guess since there is wild life (who would have thought) your children even if on the side of your camper 10 feet from you must be closer to you maybe I should put them on a leash like my dog. Oh and if your kids like rocks or digging maybe sticks because hey they are boys. Nope don’t let them pick it up that’s not acceptable here either.

For Peregrine Pines FamCamp: Arrived on April, 8th 2019. Staff was in a hurry to get rid of us and pointed at the self check-in forms. Basically occupy any spot you like, fill out paperwork and leave with payment in the drop-box. There is no host here. That said, it seems anyone could come and leave without anyone knowing. $25 a night. All gravel and pines. Clean and beautiful. Several bath houses and laundry rooms. We plan to stay 5 days or so.
