For Island Acres - James M Robb-Colorado River State Park: This state park is great for an overnight off of I70. Very easy access off of the highway. The draw back is the highway noise, but that’s to be expected for an overnight and this one comes with amazing mountain/cliff views and the Colorado River. We have a 5th wheel toy hauler just under 40 feet and I would not recommend anything larger in this park.

For Island Acres - James M Robb-Colorado River State Park: We enjoyed this park. We initially had a spot directly in the sun but were allowed to pick another site more in the shade since there were many openings. The staff are very helpful. We stayed in the section farthest from the highway with only electric but had potable water stations very close if needed.
Bathrooms were clean and in good shape.
There are several trails as well a swimming hole and place to fish.
The sites are very spacious with level pads.
The one thing we didn’t care for was the mosquitos and biting flies. Mornings were not bad for this.
Overall a great place to stop.
Be aware there is a $10/night park fee unless you have the yearly park pass.

For Island Acres - James M Robb-Colorado River State Park: Awesome state park. Perfect location to do Grand Mesa and resupply in Grand Junction. It is situated between the river and the railroad on one side and on the other side is I-70. We chose an electric only site with water nearby because those sites were the furthest from I-70.

For Island Acres - James M Robb-Colorado River State Park: We can't say enough about this state park campground! It's rare that you find such a nice state park campground with full hook up! We gave this five stars for the large sites, great picnic table area with lean to shade over the picnic table (a game changer for the desert heat), beautiful scenery, our site backed up to the Colorado river and a great walking trail. Cell service was good. We stayed in site number 56HA the only negative was the mosquitoes. We liked the close proximity to Grand Junction, but we never felt like we were too close to a city. We loved this campground and will be back! I'm not quite sure why it's rated for dollar signs. This is one of the most affordable full hook up campgrounds, we found yet!

For Island Acres - James M Robb-Colorado River State Park: If on FHU you have plenty of space. However I-70 is a stones throw away. Traffic noise 24/7. Inside RV not too bad. There is an additional fee of $10 for park use. Never had to pay that before, usually included in camp fee. 24 miles from Colorado National Monument. Mature trees and Colorado River is a walk away. Beware mosquitoes as they are 2 ponds on site.also reserve webpage showed almost full. Must have been 10 empty spots around me.

For Island Acres - James M Robb-Colorado River State Park: nice state park. Good walking trails. Laundry. Lousy cell reception and 4G. situated between I70 and the railroad so there is some noise....cannot say it bothered us but if you are sensitive to it..... Great location to visit Palisades (wineries), Grand Mesa, Colorado National Monument.
