For Silver Creek Campground: I think this is the most noisy campground I have ever stayed. The campground itself is clean, has beautiful trees and nearby Truckee river. What destroys this campground is the constant loud traffic noise from nearby Hwy 89. The good part is the location, easy access to Tahoe.I would have given this campground a five star rating if it wasn’t for that loud highway.

For Silver Creek Campground: This is a small, quaint campground right off of Highway 89 and close to the Truckee River. It has very clean vault toilets, fire pits, picnic tables, and potable water. The camp hosts are very nice! I am a female solo traveler and felt very safe here. The river is just a short walk away. The river moves rather swiftly but it’s not that deep. It’s not for swimming but you can get in enough to get wet and cool off. There was bear activity while I stayed there but I didn’t see any. There are bare lockers if you need to use them. The fee for one night was $20.
