For Creek - Donner Memorial State Park: Not open due to Covid - 19 but will be opening this week 6/22. There is good spacing between sites. We arrived after the park partially opened in June 2020 from Covid-19. The CG only opened about 1 in 4 sites in two loops to ensure social distancing. The bathrooms and showers have new roofs but inside is still somewhat dated but they were all clean. No light switches which made bathrooms/showers dark and somewhat dangerous for slipping hazards, be careful in showers. Showers are coin operated $.50 gets you started and a total of $1.25 will get you a good shower at 5 minutes. Firewood was expensive at 5-6 pieces for $10. Sites are hit or miss for level, there are nice walking trails to take you down to the lake then continue on the south side of Donner lake to the boat rental area and all the way to China Cove area. The SP side of the lake was very busy on the weekends and social distancing was not observed, considering so many people are still sick and numbers are spiking the only masks were observed on SP employees. Fishing is said to be difficult but not impossible on the shore but some have better luck on the piers on the north side of the lake which are mostly public but get there early for a spot. We felt boat rentals were high priced but it has been a long time since we rented one. Old downtown Truckee is not far by car and has plenty of shops and eateries to choose a meal or buy a souvenir.

For Creek - Donner Memorial State Park: Beautiful setting. 3 campsite loops. $35/day $7 for extra vehicle $1 senior discount ea day.
Most campsites are layed out for trailers with the door & awning on the tow vehicle passenger side. Our 19' trailer has its door on the drivers side. (Something to consider next time)
Campgrounds are VERY dusty and frequented by lots of "grease bees" (small, benign yellow jackets).
Super clean flush toilets & showers!
Campsite spacing varied, but was adequate. Many (most) were in the sun with no shade. We saw lots of bug tents.
We probably will not return because there are so many more places to visit.
The nearby lakeside trail is chock full of picnic tables and BBQs as well as many small beaches for swimming or kayaking etc.
The museum is nearby and fairly interesting for both young and old. Enjoy!!
