For Ricardo Campground - Red Rock Canyon State Park: Arrived at 2PM today. One other campsite occupied. $25/night. Dry camping only. Fresh water spigot is locked. I arrived with a full fresh water tank so it did not matter to me. Dump station is $20. It takes a credit card. Absolutely beautiful surroundings, quiet and clean. Website says no motorhomes over 30ft. I have a 39ft motorhome and fit into site 13 with room to spare. Site 24 is a pull through and would fit as well. At least three other sites could accommodate me as well. Campground roads are well maintained. Only a few places where I had to take care maneuvering. I would stay here again without question.

For Ricardo Campground - Red Rock Canyon State Park: The campsite itself is located in a great scenic area which is red rock canyon. It is very beautiful place to camp, and has many trails to hike on, and canyons to climb on. It has many camp sites to pick from and you can bring up to a 30 ft rv in there. Sites are on the small side and more or less meant for tents. I brought my 27 ft TT with no problems. Now to the bad points which is why it earned my 3 star review. as of 10/2012 it costs $20/night to camp there, with zero hookups! There are water faucets throughout the grounds, but none at the sites. There is also a dump station that requires a fee as well. Then there are the forest Rangers (campground Hitlers) who are obnoxiously/constantly making sure you follow every rule to a T. They are out of control, and i am not the first to complain about them. I go camping to relax, not be hounded by some dork with a badge when i go 1 MPH over the posted limit, or when i have been there 15 min/ still setting up, and havent paid yet because we werent sure if we wanted to stay there. Then our camper was hanging 3 inches across an imaginary line into the next camp site. Theres 50 camp sites, and we were one of 8 groups camping there. Pretty sure they can find another site. Overall, the price (which is ridiculous for a state park with no hookups) and Ranger Ricks made for a not very good camping experience. The campground itself is scenic, beautiful, and vast. Although out in the middle of nowhere, so bring everything you need cuz its a long way to anything.
