Glasshouse
For Buckhorn: One of my favorite stops when going from Washington to California. I usually take two nights here. It’s clean, remote, well attended to by local rangers. Hi take a hike!

For Buckhorn: Awesome. Clean, tidy, quiet. We had lots of space to ourselves. Gorgeous sunset. Would stay again.

For Buckhorn: My biggest gripe was no hookups, but I knew this prior to putting my reservation in. My problem is that I usually do not go boondocking. However, family was, so I went along. In August, temperatures are pretty hot during the daytime, so having a generator will help to run the ol AC. As for the park, very nice campground, beautiful scenic views of the lake, and it’s about a 20 minute drive to Orland. Seemed pretty clean and kept up. Regular patrols from the park rangers was also nice to see. My sister stayed in lot 54 which was downwind from the outhouse, so I wouldn’t recommend that one spot.

For Buckhorn: We stayed late March in Campsite #11 based on online recommendations. I agree it is one of the best spaces, especially if you have a rear bedroom RV window you will be looking right out over the water. Spaces 10 and 17 would be my next picks. This time of year it was very quiet, only a few other RVs in the park. It got a little breezy at space #11 since it sits right on a hilltop over the lake but in the summer months this may provide a nice cooling effect. The park is super clean, dog friendly, and there are something like 13 miles of hiking/biking trail in and around the park, so lots to do for active people.

For Buckhorn: My first time here and I love the area and campground. Took my 32 foot trailer and had many spots to pick from. Clean campground with bathroom and showers. I write this review as I fish and that's another story.

Larry
For Buckhorn: Friends recommended this to us, and for good reason, we loved it. We pull a 27' Airstream and thought we might be at the max length for negotiating one of the loops (having sites about 34-45). Great sites in there, just be aware the road gets tight and steep in spots. Other loops have no issues for our size or somewhat larger. We originally spent 3 nights, in late April, 2017. The lake was nearly full, and with the blue oaks and green native grasses, was beautiful scenery. Mid-week has a lot a availability, but weekends are booked. We had to leave for that reason, and drove to Bodega Bay Saturday to spend a night. But that was going to be too foggy, drippy and we longed for Buckhorn again, so we returned on Sunday nabbing another wonderful site for 4 more nights.
We were loving the 'wacka wacka' oak woodpeckers and some other small friendly birds. A herd of buffalo is located just north of the lake. And we loved hearing the almost nightly pack of coyotes yelping close by. Then there are the stars!
We will certainly be back here in future shoulder seasons to relax and enjoy this. It is dry camping, but there are water spigots for jug filling and a nice dump station.

For Buckhorn: Clean and quiet except on Summer holiday weekends when people party. This is a "regular" stop for us; even have our favorite sites!
