For Vandenberg AFB FamCamp: Pull through spots are very nice. Plenty of space. The back in spots seemed very tight (kind of right on top of your neighbor).
Food, library, gym are about a mile away. Sidewalks all the way great for a walk or bike ride. We got to see tons of wildlife and the beaches were great don’t miss out on boathouse beach elephant seals. The launch were very cool to watch. Are pull through spot wasn’t level seemed like most were slightly off. But overall good military famcamp.

For Vandenberg AFB FamCamp: Spaces 21 through 30 or back in and extremely close to each other. No room for awnings and barely enough for slide outs. 50 amp hook up, so you’ll need an adapter if your rig is 30 amp. The free Wi-Fi is horrible and self-service is one or two bars at best. I highly recommend a cell phone booster if you need to work while on the road.
The facilities are dated and need some TLC. The men’s and women’s showers or a single bathroom for each, but very clean. The laundry room has a few washers and dryer’s for your use.
Next time we come, will be staying in one of the pool through sites, since they have a lot more room on either side.
Great place to stay if you’ve come to watch a launch.

For Vandenberg AFB FamCamp: We showed up for a one night stay in the tent area, but was told since we were only sleeping in our van we had to stay in the overflow dry camp area (100 yard away from the restroom and wifi). The restroom is only one toilet, one shower. I feel like a second class retiree band to the dirt parking lot.

For Vandenberg AFB FamCamp: Just getting here for a long stay and here are some things that other reviews haven’t covered. This is 50 Amp only, so if you are 30A you need an adapter, and they say the power is sketchy so have a good surge protector. The coyotes here are not afraid of people because previous campers fed them, now they are a threat, especially to pets. Prepare for a lengthy paperwork drill on check in, and there’s a long wait list because of the housing shortages and a lot of us are trying to stay here for awhile.

For Vandenberg AFB FamCamp: Pretty nice accommodating rv park, some full timers. We had pull thru asphalt spot, neighbors were pretty close Very nice people that work there. Didn’t utilize bathrooms/showers. Laundry was clean & fair priced, coin operated. Quiet base, not much going on there or in the area. Small px & commisary. Would go back if in the area.

For Vandenberg AFB FamCamp: By far the absolute worst dog policy I have ever encountered. Apparently the wing commander can determine which dog breeds are considered inherently aggressive, and are banned from the base unless they are emotional support dogs. I’ve stayed at rv parks all across the country and never dealt with such an Ignorant dog policy. They also make you pay $10 just to dry camp on a base where you could literally park in any other parking lot on base for free. Absolutely ridiculous. We called River park RV 12 miles down the road, they were extremely friendly and had no problems allowing our “aggressive/viscous†animals. Also, for the same price and a much much much better view.

For Vandenberg AFB FamCamp: Our site was pull through on a concrete pad. All hookups worked fine. Wifi worked well with a cell booster. There are ground squirrels all over the place, meaning holes in the ground to watch out for. The pine trees at the campsites need trimming badly (a tree branch gouged the side of our RV upon leaving). The road to leave through the Lompoc gate is 9% downgrade.
We were lucky enough to catch a Space-X launch of a Falcon 9 rocket. It was awesome!
