Shadow Cruising
For Yogi Bears Jellystone Park at Tower Park Resort: We stayed here July 2nd-July 6th, 2021, in space 208. The site was tight, but it had full hookups. Jellystone really packs the campers in, so navigating the unmarked non-directional single lane streets, made it stressful while towing our 28’ TT. The campground was packed but mostly fun. A good mix of cultures, until we heard our neighbors…
We had neighbors in a cabin across from us that clearly did not know how to respect other campers and were blaring their explicit rap music all day, everyday from their parked cars. Security? Rules? Never once saw security enforce a single rule or tell the cabin group to turn their music down, for the entire 3 days they were there. I didn’t mind the music, but the volume and constant explicit lyrics non-stop in a family oriented campground was a huge negative on our first visit to Jellystone. However, after the holiday weekend and after the trashy neighbors left, like magic, security appeared at 10pm to remind my family that it was quiet hours. Apparently security is afraid of approaching loud groups of African Americans, but does approach small families enjoying a campfire and not making any noise.
Golf carts and cabanas were booked up months in advance. If you don’t buy a “Fun Pass†in advance of your arrival, you’ll be paying every activity a-la-carte at a 20% increase. The lazy river line was a 40 minute wait in the hot sun, and that’s a conservative estimate. The snow cone shack only takes cash. Nighttime laser tag fills up fast and is booked out usually 2 days in advance.
The family activities were plentiful and if you have little kids, even teenagers, they will love it. The WiFi sucks. I have AT&T and usually had 1-2 bars at all times. The on-site store has everything you’d need and the restaurant is newly opened this week. Propane is offered, but they hadn’t calibrated their equipment yet, since the remodel, so it wasn’t offered this week.
Customer service was lacking for the entire park. No one answers the phone, no clearly marked employee drives through the park, except for the cleaning crew. The manager was never seen anywhere in the park. The lifeguards are busy looking at their cell phones all day, so watch your kids closely.
Walmart and Safeway are a 15 minute drive into town.
I would try Jellystone again, but would definitely pay for a pull through or premium space in the new section, away from the drunken cabin dwellers that are here just to party and blare explicit music all day/night. On the bright side, my kids got a lesson on how not to act thanks to the example of our classless neighbors.

For Yogi Bears Jellystone Park at Tower Park Resort: This park since it’s under construction is hard for rigs to enter due to poor signage, gravel roads, and they don’t have the best layout for entering and exiting. There are long, narrow roads that make it hard to enter and exit due to the hill you go up to enter and then you go down a hill to enter the park. Makes it hard to see if anyone else is coming down the road. We have a 39’ and it was tight inside the park too. Water park is fun tho!

For Yogi Bears Jellystone Park at Tower Park Resort: This place is just wrapping up a major renovation. Jelly stone purchased this park in 2017 and since then has updated the facilities, staff, and water park. My husband and I loved staying here! Very dog and kid friendly. It’s expensive as far as rv resorts go but it is a destination resort. We loved the pools, parks, and mini golf course! My kids loved the weekend activities. All in all well worth the trip and I’m very excited about all the improvements.

For Yogi Bears Jellystone Park at Tower Park Resort: Great place. Was a bit crowded when we arrived on saurday but on Sunday everyone seemed to have left. Pool water could use a heater/ warmer of some type. Pool water was really really cold.

For Yogi Bears Jellystone Park at Tower Park Resort: We really wanted to love this campground but all the little issues added up. Three stars is actually really generous in my opinion, but my husband feels like three is fair. It was all the little maintenance issues where you can see the park is not being kept up to par. It is a great stop for a night if your passing through. Also a great stop if you are a boating person or a party person.
Generally the grounds are minimally maintained. Grass was not cut in a very long time. Bee's were swarming in the grassy field so you couldn't use it without fear of being stung. I didn't realize it until my dog and I were in the middle of it and I could hear the swarm buzzing. Grass was so long under some picnic tables you couldn't use them and were covered in cobwebs so you wouldn't want too. The paved walking/bike trail was in disrepair and if you didn't watch your step you could easily fall.
Pool was nice although the water was cold. My kids loved the water slide and the bouncy pillow/trampoline. The hot tubs were both broken so they were cold tubs. The lawn furniture was sun baked and a few of them had broken straps that were obviously broken for awhile. I did not go in the pool (too cold) but my husband mentioned the tile had a build up of dirt and algae (we have a pool so he would know).
The bathrooms/shower seemed OK to me (although I never used them) but my husband thought it best to use our shower (which we rarely do). He said the men's room was nasty.
The dog play area was nice to have and our dog loved it. Just be careful around other dogs. Seemed to be many aggressive dogs. I saw one dog fight in the run but it was just a little tiff. Another dog was being walked with a muzzle on. The dog poopy bag dispenser was empty the entire time we were there, good thing we brought our own.
The movies in the park inflatable screen is sagging and is sun baked and stained. You can tell it is left up year round.
As for hook ups, we chose a pull through since it was after dark. The hook ups were on the same side as the picnic table so if we want the trailer door on the same side as the table we had to run the hookups under the trailer. The pull throughs were so narrow that our slide out was right up against the picnic table in the next site.
Because we got there after dark we decided not to hook up the sewer line until checkout. My husband repositioned the trailer to dump and when he removed the sewer cover water was backed up 3 inches from the top. We had been smelling a mild foul odor and just assumed it was the surrounding farm fields. After flagging down multiple workers (who generally knew nothing) we found out they apparently turned off the pumps so all the sewer lines had been backed up. Took about 45 minutes for them to figure it out so we got a late start.
As for noise, during the day it was good but every night we could hear music/base booming throughout the park until 3-4am. Quiet time is not enforced. When my husband went in the store the morning after we got there he could hear management getting ready to evict a camper that had 15 complaints. Not sure if he was evicted but the noise issue continued the next night. Keep in mind we camped on a Wednesday and Thursday, not even a weekend. We were warned that on the weekend it is more like spring break with MTV!
The people generally are a little out of control and loud. We heard they rent golf carts, the people driving the golf carts are generally teenagers. All driving way to fast, especially around kids on bikes not being properly monitored by an adult. One kid about 8-10 was on a motorized standup scooter racing his parent. Totally out of control swerving around cars in blind turns. Almost ran over some people while racing across the walking path.
I would think that at $70+ a night that the park would be in better shape. Seemed as if they did not have enough staff or the staff they had tend to slack off.
The quality of patrons were not the most desirable and a little rough around the edges. Which reminds me, none of the street lights had power so the campground was very dark at night.
On a positive note the store prices were fair and the food at the restaurant was acceptable (although not exceptional).
The cob webs on the businesses (the sweet shop) was not acceptable. You could tell the building itself has not been cared for in a very long time.
While my kids had a good time, we will only use this campground as a stop over in the future.

For Yogi Bears Jellystone Park at Tower Park Resort: The people in the office don't always know what they're doing. I went with some friends and we had multiple sites reserved. When I went to check I. They told me all of our sites are already checked in and I didn't owe anything. I set up camp and asked my friends if they paid for my site or checked me in. No one did. I went to the office again but they said "no, it's already taken care of. You are all checked in." So I didn't worry about it. Enjoyed our weekend. We had a premium RV site with patio, swing, and fire pit. The dog park and playground area was nice. The park was clean and well maintained. Loved it. At the end of our trip, my friend got a voicemail stating that one of our sites never checked in. If we were there, come by the office, if not we would lose the deposit. Again, I tried to call the office and was told to check back tomorrow with the manager. They obviously didn't want my money. So, I had a great, cheap trip. Would go again.
