For Thunder Valley Casino Parking Lot: I tried to call ahead but could never get an operator. I just pulled in and parked in the far end of the lot across the street from the casino. There were several trucks parked there along with several motor homes and trailers. Plenty of room to spread out. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of noisy neighbors messing with their motorcycle around midnight. I didn’t see any sign of security, but they were having a concert that night and probably had their hands full.

For Thunder Valley Casino Parking Lot: Everything Sue says is correct except.
No need to call security but you can if you wish. Just pull in.
The odor you smell is a compost processing plant near there, not a trash recycling center. It smells like you just cut the grass.

For Thunder Valley Casino Parking Lot: Easy to find, easy access, HUGE paved lot, rvs on one side and big rigs on the other. Free for up to 3 days. Dropping of fifth wheeler/trailer allowed so easy to provision, fuel up, etc. We checked in with security inside the casino but were told next time we could call them shortly before arrival at 916-408-8238 and they’d come meet us at the lot so we didn’t have to come to the casino. Gave us a receipt to hang on the rig for the duration of our stay. Very pleasant interaction. Excellent cell signal (Verizon) and 40 over the air channels on the tv. Seems a little noisy so far but can’t complain since it’s free. Probably won’t visit the casino much but it looks nice enough. Definitely would stay here again.

Kath
For Thunder Valley Casino Parking Lot: Great overnight stop. Large paved level lot across the street from the casino. We arrived Saturday evening. Big concert was going on. Traffic was controlled by police officers. RV and semi truck lot had plenty of space for us to choose a spot. First we registered to get the players club card, that gave us a discount on food and some free play. We enjoyed the Labor Day buffet, the food was great. Then we checked in with security. It was a hot night and there was no problem to run generators for us to run our A/C. The concert was really loud near the casino but by the time we got back to our rig. The sound was more muted. We put in our earplugs anyway since the train tracks were nearby. This Casino has one of the better air ventilation systems and I had no problem walking through the smoking section on the busy Saturday night.

Wandering Sandals
For Thunder Valley Casino Parking Lot: Stayed 3 nights at Thunder Valley RV parking for some fun, food and coffee after long drive from Southern California. You can park anywhere in the RV/Oversized parking at the south corner of Athens & Thunder Valley Ct, just get a RV Pass from nice security folks and you are set. They may even give you a lift to the casino across the street. We found the ideal parking spot just in the middle of huge paved parking lot; away from Athens traffic noise and Rio Bravo Rocklin power plant operating nearby. Train noise along Industrial Ave can occasionally be heard but bearable. Trash receptacles can be found at every shuttle stops and got emptied few times a day. Generators are allowed and popular with many RV folks here. Free WiFi from the casino doesn’t reach us, but three bar LTE is decent. OTA TV gave us 58 digital channels. Overall, our stay is pleasant and safe and free. Will stay again if travel up this way.

For Thunder Valley Casino Parking Lot: Weary of storms over the summit, we decided to pull into the TV casino RV lot. Didn't see much security but it seems to be a very slow time of year. We felt very safe & were able to enjoy a nice dinner in the steakhouse & return to get a great night's sleep. Train runs really close but it has a purpose, right?
