For San Diego RV Resort-Sunland: This is a cute little RV park that is “snug“ like another reviewer said. Lots of trees but not much shade. We booked online for six nights with a premium site and the pampered pooch package. When we pulled in to check in the office person, who did say she’s only been working for two months, did not know anything about the pampered pooch package. She looked at me oddly and asked if that was some kind of discount. I explain to her it was not and showed her their website and my confirmation which both stated what the pampered pooch package was. It said included a Pupaccino, ball with a thrower, and treats. After talking to the manager who also had never heard of it they did find some pampered pooch packages in a cupboard. No Pupaccino, but there were dog treats and a ball and a thrower. This rv park is TIGHT and they did not show us to our site nor did they even explain how to get to our site which required leaving the current park through a locked gate going back on the main road and entering through another key coded gate. Overall I would probably not stay here again due to customer service. The road noise is loud, but we were in the back and so it wasn’t too bad.

For San Diego RV Resort-Sunland: Snug little city RV park and convenient to transportation both by car or trolly. The park describes itself as great for urban discovery and that is true. Daily garbage pickup, gravel pads lots of flowering trees and shrubs.

For San Diego RV Resort-Sunland: So, yes, it's close to the hwy and there is road noise. Spots are roomy for a city RV park. Nice and clean bathrooms and showers. Very convenient to the train. We were on the east side with entrance in another gate. The staff is FABULOUS. It was maybe a 2 block walk to the train and my friend is disabled. The young woman in the office grabbed a golf cart and gave us a lift without us asking. We changed our trip a bit at the last minute and decided to leave around 1pm and head to Temecula. I just called the office to let them know we're leaving and that they could have our spot. Again, without asking they refunded me a nights stay after I had already paid for it! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and probably will stay for a week or two over the summer when it gets too hot in AZ.

For San Diego RV Resort-Sunland: At this park, no one is outside, and no one ever has a window open. Why? Because there is so much road noise from the 8 lane freeway right next door that you cannot carry on a conversation outside. At 2AM it quiets down to a dull roar until around 4AM. No need for alarm clocks, it’s impossible to sleep past that time. The sites are very small, not enough room for our 30 ft fifth wheel and truck in our site. There is no Jacuzzi, even though it’s shown on the site map. Yes, the rapid rail is next door, and it’s very quiet since it’s electric. The sites are very close. The staff was friendly, and the utilities worked fine. San Diego is a hike from here though, so unless you have a specific reason for staying at this location I would suggest staying at the KOA in south San Diego. We did, but they were booked for the weekend and had to move here. Note- if you want to visit Mexico, take the blue line train, it drops you at the border crossing and costs $5 per day.

WAVE
For San Diego RV Resort-Sunland: Date: We stayed for 5 nights in January 2019
Type of RV:
We travel/live in a 24 ft Class B, nothing in tow, no sliders. We are pretty agile, unlike some Class As, with a Toad. So read this review with that in mind, esp. for your situation.
Cost: Reasonable, for an urban location. Takes several discounts (Good Sam, etc)
Location: Proximity to:
* Highway: Immediately adjacent to I-8, just a few miles east of San Diego center
* Groceries/restaurants: Fairly close, but not within walking distance.
* Hike/Bike Trails: A ways away. This is a very urban location.
* Public Transportation: This is the best part. The Light Rail Train system is an easy 4 minute walk to the 70th Street station Green Line. Takes you quickly to every downtown SD location: Seaport, Gaslight, Balboa Park, SD Zoo. Even Ikea and Trader Joes.
Check-In and Service:
* Staff Helpful, Welcoming: Alexandria at the desk was especially helpful. Lots of helpful information. And just easy to relate to. We loved her.
* Resolved any problems: No problems encountered
Campsites:
* Pull-thru vs Back-in: Most sites were back-in. A little cozy. But easily doable with our small unit. Other bigger rigs appeared to have no problem tho.
* Levelness: Quite flat across the whole park. Minimal adjustments necessary
* Proximity/Privacy (Spaciousness): This is an urban park. Sites are very close together.
* Hookups: All sites have power, water, Sewer. Cable TV was accessible but limited.
* Pads/Surface: (Paved, gravel, sand): All sites had concrete pads. No tables.
* Noise/Distractions: Park was very close to I-8. Road noise could be a problem if windows open. We were there in January, with windows closed. In warmer weather, use earplugs or close windows and use AC.
Bath House:
* Cleanliness: Outstanding. Cleaned professionally 2x/day. Paper towels too.
* Functionality
* Privacy: common sink area, individual showers and stalls
* Hot water/pressure. Fee? Plenty of HW. No Fee
* Proximity to campsite Two central bathhouses. Some site close. others quite distant.
Laundry:
* Number of washers/dryers: 6 washers/ 6 dryers. All functional
* Cleanliness/Maintenance: Cleaned 2x daily. Cared for.
Amenities:
* Common area/clubhouse: There was a common area, we didn’t use it
* Pool (Heated?): didn’t see a pool.
* Play area: Small play area for kids
Other features: N/A
OverAll:
* Pros:
⃠Felt very safe staying here in a big city
⃠Great access to public transportation into San Diego
⃠Excellent laundry and bathhouse facilities
⃠Great staff
* Cons
⃠Road Noise could be a problem if not prepared
⃠Sites are close together
⃠Not much for kids, this is not a resort

For San Diego RV Resort-Sunland: Great pool, jacuzzi, pool table. Their staff is helpful and friendly. Closest RV park to attractions. We are fulltimers and have been here for 9 months. It is close to the freeway but worth it for convienence. Out of all the parks in San Diego stay here! It is SAFE and FRIENDLY. Keep valuables inside however there have been a few thefts in general, but that is commen sense. Happy travels!
