For Mountain Village RV Park: FHU are new and work well. Sites are pull through. Some shade trees. Grass between sites. Nice bathrooms and laundry . Lovely valley. Great grocery store in town. You check in at the gas station. Good WiFi. Very quiet. Few cons: dog area full of weeds, trash pile partially covered with a blue tarp so not as aesthetic as other places where we’ve stayed.

For Mountain Village RV Park: We chose to go out of way to drive scenic CA SR3 between Weaverville, CA and Yreka, CA towing our 27’ Airstream. A road we have never driven. Very little traffic, maybe because it was 4/28/2024, yet a Sunday. Anyway, it seemed the USFS has not opened the many CG’s along Trinity Lake. Driving up Scott Pass was a nervous drive as signs advised against towing trailers. Two signs along the way wanted to make sure they were seen. Whew, we made it and once over the pass, a very nice road down into Scott Valley. A 6 mile, 7% constant downgrade. We wanted to stay shy of Yreka, CA. We wondered if the Etna, CA Shell gas station and RV Park was still open. We saw the park from the road and it looked nice. Bottom line-a very pleasant surprise with lots of sun and trees for shade. A pleasant pretty valley. Grass kept nicely. FHU are modern. A new looking rest room facility with some of the nicest showers (free), and well taken care of. A large laundry building. Playground. We paid about $63 for the night. Good wifi and Verizon and AT&T. There appear to be 4 or 5 liveins but they are kept up (guess mgmt enforces standards). Just keep in mind if you stay here and head south on SR3, going down Scott Pass will be ‘exciting’ and very hard on braking with tight hairpins. And a scenic drive it is

For Mountain Village RV Park: I guess it's safe to say we LOVE this place. :-) Came for a week and stayed a month and a half! We're section hiking the PCT so bump along in our "base camp" RV. Typically stay at a place a week or two (at most) and then it's time to move on and hike the next section or two, then move on again. But Shanna and the ladies at the Shell made it impossible to leave. So nice! And grassy, partially shaded, quiet sites with a little store, huge clean laundry, and the nice little town of Etna and all of its ammenities right here. Was definitely worth the longer commutes to the farther trailheads to just stay put, relax, and enjoy! Thank you MVRVP!
