For Illecillewaet Campground - Glacier National Park: We were looking for a place to stay that would be convenient to hiking in Glacier National Park. We're self-contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed a week in late August in our 8 metre (25 foot) MH.
This is a very pleasant CG. There are 3 loops with sites of varying shapes and sizes - long and narrow to short and wide. Some are right on the river with great views (and river noise). Most sites, especially on the outer perimeter, have some privacy. Most are dirt with gravel and need some leveling. Most are shaded. There are no hookups. There are water spigots throughout the CG and at washrooms. There's no dump station. The nearest dump stations with potable water are in Golden and Revelstoke. There are plumbed toilets in each loop with pit toilets in a few places. There was usable ATT cell service while roaming Bell and usable Verizon while on Telus. We had a very quiet stay.
The trailheads to many trails in the park leave from the CG, and others are a short drive or bike ride away. The Rogers Pass Visitor Center is about 2 km (1.5 mi) north. Revelstoke (town) and Revelstoke NP are about 50 minutes away. The town has services - grocery, laundry, hardware, etc.
