For Dogtown Lake: We spent three nights at Doglake in a 36’ class A MH. First the pros: the campground is very peaceful. While we could hear train whistles in the distance, they were not objectionable. While we only saw the lake, it appears good for fishing. The area is lovely. The cons: getting there. The distances given in the directions were somewhat optimistic. When it said 2 miles to Dogtown Lake, it was actually 5, of mostly 10 MPH washboard road that shook things loose. We also passed many lovely boondocking sites on our way to the lake. Unless you want to fish in the lake, any of those places would have been just as good and still private. The only difference would have been that the boondock sites were free and you could not build a fire because there was a fire ban unless the fire was in a regulation fire pit.

For Dogtown Lake: This place is hit or miss. Friendly & kept up with bathrooms but can get crazy with partiers & drinkers so can have some loud nights. 13 miles on a dirt road & no swimming, so not our favorite but still great if you want to fish & kayak.. it’s beautiful & is peaceful when it’s not full.

For Dogtown Lake: Drycamping & no dump. However, clearly marked, clean, open & level gravel sites. Toilets & drinking water available. We feel secure. We would return!! Warning-do NOT follow GPS. Use app site’s directions to navigate good dirt roads

For Dogtown Lake: Spacious sites with level gravel pull throughs and back in's. Good water no hookups. No dump. Peaceful and quiet. Lots of shade. Friendly camp hosts that do a great job keeping the toilet and site areas clean. Nice lake. No swimming as it's a reservoir for Williams. Reservations on weekends recommended. Dispersed camping just outside park with plenty of great spots as well. Great place to beat the summer heat.

For Dogtown Lake: $20 for no power is not a deal. We left and did not stay here. It was real nice to be close to a lake but not much else to recommend here. If you leave the camp ground you can find free camping spots any where on FR 140. If you want water access and fishing then stay here. We did not come for the water.
