For Sunset View - Navajo National Monument: This is a lovely campground. We arrived just before sunset and unwittingly towed our 28’ Airstream trailer into the ‘primitive’ Canyon View CG rather than the ‘developed’ Sunset CG. The narrow road is broken asphalt, but the sites are large and widely spaced. We took site #2 which with ample space for our rig , privacy and great views. The turnaround is doable (we got out unscathed). The other CG is paved, with small sites and no privacy, but water at the toilet block.

For Sunset View - Navajo National Monument: A true gem of a park. A little of the beaten track but we’ll worth the stop. Free camping, no registration, it’s boondocking at its best.

For Sunset View - Navajo National Monument: Stayed in the Sunset View Campground in late November 2021. This campground is 9 miles off highway 160 and has a decent elevation increase. The road is well maintained and no issues with approach. The campground is also well maintained with 30+ sites. Many are short however there are longer "pull through" sites where you can park a trailer that is 20 feet or so off the main campground road. Flush toilets and nice views on the Western side. Amazing night sky and definitely a good spot for star gazing. Short trails to the cliff dwellings and only 4 others that stayed the night.

For Sunset View - Navajo National Monument: Free, stayed in Valley View (I think that was the Name) the view was amazing. Primitive camping, rough pitted road we were pulling a 22’ travel trailer and were able to turn around at the end. Tight area but doable, but not for the pull-through RVer. Quiet loved it and would stay there again. If you like paved clean RVing then stay in the lot over by the visitors center.

For Sunset View - Navajo National Monument: I stayed in the Canyon View campground, which is primitive. My view was fantastic. I have a 17.5’ camper van, and anything much longer would not fit. Saw some small trailers with the pull vehicle parked at the side. Pit toilets, but there are flush toilets at the visitor center and in the other campground at the Monument. The history, the beauty, and the hiking just can’t be beat. Buy supplies in Kayenta or Tuba City. I would have some aged longer than my four days, but had to find water and a dump station. A very spiritual place, really good for the soul.

For Sunset View - Navajo National Monument: This is a beautiful spot. Each campsite is very private and well maintained. It is free but we plan to donate as it is better than most campgrounds we’ve paid for. Restroom facilities were off line during our stay (December) but we have what we need in our RV. Only 2 tent campers and one other RV. We are just passing thru on way to central AZ but this would make a nice destination-looks like there are cliff dwellings nearby.

For Sunset View - Navajo National Monument: You can’t argue with free! This is about 9 miles off 160 down an old paved road. I think this is a perfect option for a night or a few days since it is free and has flush toilets and a dish sink. We felt safe here and it was so incredibly quiet! We have a 21 ft truck and 25 ft trailer. We didn’t disconnect and pulled through site 10. There are probably 8 pull-in type sites here that can accommodate longer truck/trailer combos. If you have a van or small class C, please back in to leave room for the bigger rigs. There are many sites that are lovely back ins!
