For Apache Trout Campground: Stayed June 2-6, 2022(4nights) dry camped. Campground is as described, 124 sites, 44 FHU(all reserved while we were there) with 30 Amp. Does have 2 dump stations with potable water too. Has flush toilets AND free showers. It’s at 9100’ elevation so it gets cold(47 at night). We had great and friendly hosts while there. Our negative observation was that it was VERY dusty. The roads and sites are dirt/gravel. We would go to Rainbow Campground because all roads and campsites are paved- no dust. BTW there is a pay dump station as you enter off Hwy 280. The dump at Apache Trout is free if your staying there. We paid $21 with Senior Discount

For Apache Trout Campground: The park is not very far off the hwy, but far enough not to be overly distrubed by the road noise. We stayed in a "group" loop spot. It is very close quarters, but has 2 picnic tables and fire rings. One thing that occured regularly during our stay is the power goes off at all hours of the day and night. It is not close to the bathrooms, but an easy walk to them. The spots have trees surrounding them but the spots themselves are "open" which makes them exposed to the weather. Some single spots are good size. There are full hookups and non-hookup sites. Those with hookups has both 50 & 30 amp. The water pressure is good, be sure to have a water pressure guage to prevent problems with the pressure in the rig. The length of the spot is good, but the width is what makes the spot we were in not very desireable. The park needs to spread more gravel on the sites so they don't become so muddy when it rains. The showers are adequate. However, note there is no shelf and only 2 hooks. These hooks are close to the shower and items may get wet when the shower is on. The water is almost hot and has a timer on it. So you must push it on frequently. The showers are individual suites and clean. There is one "room" for each sex with only a toliet, the building also has 2 other "rooms" with toliet and shower. There are also water spickets close by the shower buildings, outside to assist those who have no hookups. There is no cell signal in the campground. It's about 30 miles from Pinetop/Lakeside. There you can acquire good 3G AT&T service. However, can't retrive voicemail. There is a small store on the lake about 2 miles down the road that sells a few supplies for fishing, the RV, clothes, food and ice. It's part of the fishing area and it rents boats and has a launch ramp. Overall the camp is clean and well kept and we'd stay there again.
