For Heber Springs: Stayed at Heber Springs Campground Site D35. Greers Ferry Lake is a beautiful pristine lake and we were lucky to snag a waterfront site for a night. We have a 21’ B Van and prefer campsites with access to restrooms, ideally with showers. The info on this campground says it has toilets. Actually the toilet in section D is a vault toilet. Now, we’ve used vault toilets many times and those that are maintained are not bad. However, these are NOT maintained. The toiled is about 40 yards from the road and there is barely a path to the building through the woods. The women’s door was practically hanging on its hinges and was so bad I refused to go in. Husband said men’s was worse. A lot of the campsites were very unlevel and be sure to check the length. We prefer COE campgrounds but this was a little too primitive for us. Too bad COE doesn’t update their campgrounds, they could justify charging more and probably should to help maintain them.
