For Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park: Tannehill Ironworks State Park west of Birmingham, AL. We enjoyed this park for its layout and many amenities. The Campground was set up for no reservations and they assigned us our spot based on our needs. I don’t know if it’s always No Reservation but in late March that was the set up. We got lucky and got a level one that backs onto the babbling brook. Sites are decently laid out but mostly dirt and gravel. No fire ring but a fire pile. We had Lot 202. In Campground 2 the lost sizes were reasonably sized. Campground #1 seemed quite close together. As it’s Friday we tried to arrive earlier to beat spring breakers. Lots of kids on bikes. Beautiful temps in late March. $30 with septic hook up.
Tannehill Ironworks State Park has a nice camp store and plenty of open spaces for the various programs they sponsor throughout the year. A knife forging meet was going on during our stay. There is a small train that runs through the hollow. The engineer told me it’s for kids and adults. We were unable to see the historic buildings but hope our travels bring us this way again as it is a lovely park. Just a few miles from the camp entrance is a Dollar General and a small deli.

For Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park: We stayed one night just passing through in a narrow back in spot on the Mud River. Even though Halloween was still 20 days off the park was full of camp sites decorated elaborately with ghosts and goblins. Lots of families with kids everywhere. It was magical. Look forward to staying some time again, but probably not in October!

For Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park: Historical site, but very run down. Bath houses are disgusting. Historical signage needs updating. Friendly staff. Cheap enough with senior rate.

For Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park: For a 1 night stay it was not that great. The price was good, $27 for full hook ups. Sites were not level. The sewer connection was a good way away. I had to uses. Extension for my hose.

For Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park: Lots of activities, great grounds, lots to see. We went during spring break for about 8 surrounding counties and the grounds were very crowded. Kids, 14 and 12, had plenty to do and lots of friends. The park appears to have their own police force who were very kind and helpful. Supposedly even more crowded on Trade Days, which are once a month, March through November.

For Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park: Beautiful historic park with a lot of interesting things to see around the property. It was pretty full as people settle in a month in advance for a big Halloween event that draws 15,000 for trick-or-treating! Fun walking around and seeing all the decorations. The sites were very small, but since we were just overnighting, it wasn't a problem. Definitely geared toward young families. We were in a 25' TT.
